No I'm not seeking to be trendy. There is however an increasing use of the UTM system for mapping material, particularly off road, & non conventional street & road locations . The online conversion sites have proven to be frustrating to use, often with bogus results. So I ask:
Is it time for Garmin to include UTM data input on both it's Nuvi & hiking GPS units?
I have a GPSmap62 from Garmin
And it allows the use of UTM.
You can enter the position in any format when setting up a waypoint, regardless of what you have the output set to, and it will automatically convert it for you.
And if you want to see all the coordinates in that format, you just change the Position Format and it will start displaying it in your desired format.
