CN EU Junction View files.

I have seen that an European Nuvi can have both the Junction View and the DEM files. However if I purchase a CN EU SD card for my 3697 I will only get the maps. Is it possible to down load the EU JV file from some Garmin site (as we can do for the NA version) and if so can I install it onto the card and will the GPS see it?

I believe you've made a typo in your post, there is no model 3697.Your profile shows the proper 3597 model.
To answer your question, the maps on an SD card you buy from Garmin are generic and will give you the map only.
In addition to losing the Dem files you will not get Junction Views or the Voice Command files required for that particular map.
Older Voice Command files will NOT work, they must be map specific, the same as the JCV files.
Garmin has not offered a download link for the full JCV files for CN North America for some time now, nor do I think you'll find one for Europe.
Maybe somebody more knowledgeable then I can offer a better suggestion.

No separate jcv file
There is no separate jcv file for the EU map. Even if there was what you're suggesting won't, AFAIK, work.
However you will get lane assist with your supplemental map, that is the most important bit IMO, junction view is simply a bit of window dressing.

Sorry for the typo, too early in the morning. Thanks for the info, Lane Assist will have to be it. I think the DEM file is not version specific but I don't think Garmin makes it available for download. Pity because the view crossing the Alps is quite impressive.
