I took advantage of the Nuvi 855 at Costco.
I am very impressed with the voice activation. Much better than I expected.
The prices in general seem to be coming down for Garmin.

Thank You

Thanks for the info. I have heard there is low sound on the 855. What do you think? Still thinking about buying it but I had a nuvi 765 and returned it because I did not think the quality was as good as my nuvi 660. I do like the features but feel Garmin is letting the customers down lately. $249 for the Nuvi 855 is a great price but ends July 5.

Sam's dropped the price of the 765T to $329. That's where I got mine. I actually paid $347 for it then noticed the next day it had dropped to #327. Went in and they adjusted the price.

cjames... I also do not feel that the quality of the 765 is anywhere near that of my 680. We'll see...

I do not have a problem with the sound on the 855. I guess it may be an issue if you have a lot of other background sounds, open windows, air conditioning, or road noise. You can always play your gps thru the fm transmitter and use the car sound system, it works well.
The on/off/sleep switch is not the best......

I have used both the 855 and I own the 885T that I just used on a 2,000 mile trip a week ago and I have had no problem with low volume, in fact I have the master volume set to 80% most of the time because the navigation announcements were to loud when at 100%.

I saw yesterday buydig.com which is a reliable and authorized Garmin dealer is selling the 885T for $349.97 shipped free.
