I have a nuvi 775t that comes with the CNNA maps as well as the European Maps.
Garmin does not send a MapSource DVD with the units.
So how in the world am I supposed to use the maps with Mapsource ?
When I used mapsource to try to "transfer" the maps to MapSource, it told me the unit had no maps.
Whats the secret ? I'm certainlyt not trying to do anything illegal.... I already have the maps.... I already have the latest MapSource and all I want to do is use them on MapSource.
Thanks for any help.

1. First off, the bad news. You can not transfer a map that came with your nuvi or on a SD card (I imagine this is your Euro map) to a computer to be used with Mapsource.
2. If you're patient and can wait until you buy a 1-time or lifetime CNNA update--it will both update your nuvi by replacing the old map AND add the new update to your computer to be used by Mapsource. If your nuvi is new enough and has its one free update available to you, downloading and installing it will add the map to Mapsource on your computer.
3. You can try calling Garmin Tech Support and plead your case. They may offer a discount on the DVD for the CNNA map built into your nuvi. If the Euro map is from Garmin on a SD card, the specs fully indicate that it will not let you transfer the map to a computer and Mapsource, so you may have to buy a full DVD version of the Euro map to put it on your computer.
Sorry for the bad news.
They might send it very cheaply

I had a somewhat similar situation. I had a 350 with the 2008 maps and wanted MapSource. I called Garmin and asked to get a DVD with MaqSource and the 2008 maps. They verified my 350 registration and that it had 2008 maps. They sent me a DVD with MapSource and the 2008 maps, charging only for shipping; about $6 or so. Call Garmin and give it a shot.
Or Free
Depending on who you get at Garmin you might get Mapsource for free. The rep. I talked to sent me one for free.

mapsource
mapsource is free on the Garmin website for downloading. But it won't have any good maps on it. It does contain a very general world wide map but that's it. It won't contain very many roads and won't allow mapping. In fact, it's pretty worthless.
You can call Garmin and ask them to send you a disk with the map on it, same as found on your GPS. They made me pay for shipping it. You can then load the disk and everything works well.
Garmin Nuvi 750
It does depend who you talk to
The garmin rep I spoke to wouldn't send the DVD/maps for my new 755T even if I was willing to pay ... said Mapsource and map DVD wasn't appropriate for Nuvi's with built in maps. The new maps didn't come out within 60 days of my purchase so I couldn't get it via the map download. I eventually ended up buying the lifetime map update and got it that way.
