MSN Direct

I purchased the GDB-50 MSN Direct receiver for my 765T. I have my GPS mounted high on my windshield and have installed my power cord so its hidden behind the plastic on my driver side roof pillar, and cannot be seen nor removed easily.

When I fly out of town I take my original power cord (with FM traffic) but miss not being able to use the MSN services when traveling out of town and using a rental car (shure would be nice if the receiver was right on the GPS itself and not on the cord).

Does anyone know if Microsoft will sell a second cable and have it paired to the same GPS unit so I could have a permanently installed cable on my car and one to take with me when traveling? Will they pair 2 receivers to one GPS on a single account?

Does anyone make a GPS with built in MSN, not by the power cable?

Garmin Sell

Garmin sell the MSN cable separately, see https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=8526

Since you register the cable with MSN Direct I would think you could have as many cables as you needed. At the very worst you may need a separate MSN Direct account for each of them.

MSN Direct

The account is for the receiver which is in the power plug of the cable. If you buy a second cable, you have a second account. You cannot move the account between receivers.

The Subscription Follows the Cable

Each cable requires a seperate subscription. However, you can move a cable with an active subscription between GPS units as long as they are MSN Direct capable.

MSN Direct Receiver

Thanks everyone!

Seems the ideal solution would be for the MSN Direct Receiver to be incorporated on the PND itself.

Guess for now I have to live without MSN Direct when traveling (unless I want to go through the trouble of unscrewing the plastic pillar cover and pulling the cable everytime I travel - yikes).

BTW... MSN Direct works just fine here in ther DFW area of North Texas.
