The waiting and wondering is over.

Below is a link to the new Nuvi 3700 series announced today on the Garmin website..Other than design I don't see anything earth-shattering and you wonder why they wouldn't make it in the 5" rather than the 4.3" and doesn't mention nu-link.

Does anyone have a garmin VIB 10 that they are not using and might want to sell?

I have constructed a mapset on my PC using both CNNA 2010 and topo maps - MapSource. I have also created 40 custom waypoint icons in the proper format. The Custom icons appear on the maps on my PC, but do not migrate when I transfer the mapset to my 276c unit. When I look on the menu for custom waypoint icons, that field is blank, and generic icons are assigned to the waypoints on the unit.

I'm planning to purchase a nuvi 760 and am just learning about FM traffic options. I see several providers to choose from: https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=268

Which do you recommend? On units with free traffic, which provider is used?

I have just downloaded rest areas to my 660. They are found in Extras under Custom POIs. How do I put them in their own heading of Rest Areas? I would like to add other Groups of POIs but want to keep them under seprate headings. How do I do it? When traveling what is the best way to find out how far you are away from the next rest area on your chosen route?

I will be in the market soon to buy a new car. While I have a nuvi 750 and am very pleased with it, my heart wants a built in GPS because it is another toy to play with and makes the dash look "Hi-Tech". Can I have some feed back from members who have switched from hand held to built-in and let me know the pro's and con's as you have experienced them.

Call me more money than brains.

I recently purchased a new 1490T with free FMTraffic subscription. I am supposed to enter a code to activate the subscription, but i cannot find the code anywhere.

I need some advice.

I downloaded the latest version of the Extra POI Editor and successfully installed it on my desktop system. I've run the program and it works great.

I am wondering about the usefullness of the Paris City Explorer map.

I just acquired a nuvi 1490 as an upgrade from my nuvi 750. One apparently useful element of the 1490 is its ability to take advantage of public transportation for routing, whereas most other units do not have that capability.

I browsed FAQs, but did not find specific instructions on the subject.
What do I do if I found a POI file providing incorrect info?
Guide me, please...

Hello everybody,

Maybe someone can help me with this: I don't know why, but my GPS unit doesn't provide a good level of sound when it call the indications. It always run ok but this problem show up today. Everything work fine with my POI sound alert and my MP3 songs.

The level is at 100% but we can hardly hear the voice.

Any clue ????
Any solutions ???

I finally decided to purchase a new Nuvi to replace my trusty old 350 whose backlight has gotten dim over the years (anyone try to replace the backlight?). Anyway, I wound up buying 255 and 1490T refurbs within a week of each other. I immediately upgraded the map on the 255 (stupid me, because I know update will probably show up before my 60 days), but am holding off on the 1490T.

I managed to load Canad Topo on my new HP laptop runnning Windows 7 just letting the disk do the autoinstall. Tried to do same with Metroguide Canada, kept getting a message indicating same version of maps installed. Went to Garmin support and they gave me instructions to remove references in config file but after several calls and attempts it won't load.

I just got a 765T and am paired with Samsung SGH747.
However, my phonebook is not visible. It worked fine on the 660. Can anyone help me on this?

I created a route using Map Source...saved it (both gpx and gdb at various times) and the sent it to the Nuvi...the route shows absolutely correctly on MS and when I tried to show it on the Nuvi it routes me on highways rather than scenic route I chose...if I click on the file in the Nuvi and tell it to open with MS the route shows as I've drawn it...needless to say...I am thrilled

I know that several of you have the Garmin-compatible Arizona topo map from GPSFileDepot...and if you're like me, you don't check for updates too often. The AZ topo was updated March 10, 2010 to v2 with the following changelog:

Version 2.00 (10 Mar 10)

■Reduced the number of map segments from 68 to 46

I've been having problems with my 885. This will be my 3rd one I'm sending back, at this rate I can buy a new TOM TOM soon.I will NEVER get another Garmin. I'm DONE!

Costco just dropped the price of the Nuvi 1490T to $249.95 in their warehouse. An additional $20 since yesterday. I just picked one up and wow....It is really great. Everything about it is better to me than the 7XX series. It doesn't have MP3 or FM transmitter but I never used them anyway. It has blue tooth and picture viewer and many more new items in my opinion.
