Installing CNNT NA map updates to multiple Nuvi units

I own a Nuvi 775T, 1260T and 660 and have Garmin lifetime city Navigator map updates on each. When a new map update comes out, I have generally downloaded the EXE file from MyGarmin and then launch that file to build the map image on the PC and transfer to my 775T unit first. Then, to avoid another 2Gb+ download of the same file from MyGarmin for the 2nd and third units, I just re-run the same EXE file with the Nuvi 1260T and 660 attached successively. Each time the map image is rebuilt, however, and that takes considerable time. Is this really necessary? Is the map image identical in each case or custom optimized to the memory space on each device? Is there a quicker and more efficient way to accomplish loading the map updates to the 2nd and 3rd units?

Identical But...

The map images are identical BUT the gmapprom.unl file is different for each device.

.

Try it.

Copy the GMAPPROM.IMG file to the unit.
Create the GMAPPROM.UNL file with a text editor and put the unlock code in there.

If it doesn't work, you haven't lost much in terms of time and you can then know that you need to do it the traditional way.
