limited number of custom POI displayed on nuvi 1450

HI: My first post. I am a sailplane pilot, and I am attempting to create a database of all the airports our club might land at. We currently have 192 airports in our database. I have a NUVI 1450 and created a CUSTOM POI .gpx file containing these 192 Airports. Works fabulously.... but only for the 50 CLOSEST airports. The rest of the airport POI's are NOT on the list and this is bad smile Is there any way to configure so that I can have ALL 192 of the CUSTOM POI's airports displayed? My guess is that the unit has been designed to hold only so many custom POI waypoints. As a fallback, we DO have the coordinates of all of the airports, and can enter them manually. We would like to punch the button and GO... smile Any help would be appreciated!! RMWAC

Welcome!

This is normal for the unit to only show the first 50. The rest of them are there.

Zoom out, and move to a place 200 miles away, and then check the POI's again. You'll get the 50 closest again.

That's what I suspected....

That's what I suspected.... I guess we'll head out in the general direction of the airport, when we get closer we will eventually fall within the closest 50. That will do, I suppose. I was wondering if some tweaks were out there that might allow the display of ALL CUSTOM POI. Thanks for confirming what I had suspected. RMWAC

Mabe Try

To make a tourguide instead of a poi. It might give a few more.

Won't work

TourGuides are still POI's, but with a radius alert instead of proximity alerts.

Divide your list into areas

Divide your list into areas of 50 or less. Like SWairports.gpx, NWairports.gpx etc. put them all into a folder and use the loader and it will load ALL the files and when you go to Custom POI's you'll have a list: NWairports,SWairports etc.

By Zoom Out... He meant...

Just do a search for airports "Near" your destination city and you won't be bothered by the entries close to your origination city.

Then pick the airport you want as your "Where To" destination.

In fact, that seems like a full fledged feature, not a problem at all.
