I like the idea of Ciao, but I'm not able to add any friends. Any idea's on how to add other friends and does it work well.

I believe the Ciao service requires all users/friends be running the 1690 unit for the service to operate. If you have no friends with a 1690, you won't be able to use the service as intended.
