POI projects

We are at a campground in Bedford MA and wanted to find a Walmart. Using the "Walmart" POI I had downloaded to my Garmin we saw there was a Walmart only 8.0 miles from where we were. Trouble was that when we got there it was a location in a residential area with no businesses anywhere nearby.

does anyone know where i can get capital one bank poi cvs files?

I'm fairly new to all this, so this is not a stupid question. If I want to upload an updated POI file to my 750, do I have to delete the existing file from the unit?

I apologize if this should have been posted elsewhere but I searched high and low to try to find a better place.

I am new in this site, just reigtered. I have mio c230 with sd card slot. i want to know if i want add poi, do i have to add in the hard drive or i can have it in the sd card? will it work. the hard drive really don't have alot of space left in there.
can some one tell me how to do this...

Recently I downloaded the Schools-West POI file as I live in AZ. With the schools of California and the other states, the file was too big to fit on my C340. (Of course I'm not going to take off the safety camera files....) Since the city/state is not designated in the cvs file, it would be hard to remove those from another state.

I searched for a topic like this and did not find one so sorry if its already here. I was wondering how to or who to report a missing item in a poi file the McDonalds file is missing the McD's in my town, and ya its been here forever. :} thanx

With Gustav threatening the Louisiana coast and Hanna aiming for the gulf I though that a good POI to have would be "storm shelters"

This may or not help the natives who know where they are located but it will be of tremendous help to tourist and individuals in transit thru one of the affected States.

I'm a newbie but surprised that no one has wanted to take this on yet.

Dark Knight was filmed extensively in Chicago. The Chicago Tribune listed on a Google Map all the locations and a short description of where in the movie that location was used.

on my tom tom it can be operated as a radar detector. is there a download for the garmin nuvi 250

Is anybody working on or know where I can get a Garmin CSV file for FM Classic Rock Stations across the country. I know I have seen the entire list of FM stations and one or two sorted by genre, but never that one.

I love Poi Factory and appreciate all the work that people put into creating files for gps ers like me.

But... I would like to make a suggestion to think about....
For people (waa) that travel a lot, having a lat and long will get people to a place. But having a phone number to the place is also a huge help.

During a recent trip to the Midwest, my family and I passed statues of a giant cow, Paul Bunion, and a cow boy. We also saw a 1950s supersaber jet aircraft mounted for public display along the countryside, an archway bounded by giant eagles, a large obelisk on a hillside, a building that looked like a giant round of cheese.

i was looking for a shopping center in my area and could not locate it, only by a store name that i thought was located in there.

i think it would be an idea to set up "major shopping centers POI" - unless they exist already ?

If you are like me and my family, you are interested in finding interesting food when traveling across country rather than eating in the same places that are available locally in your own community. For us, that can mean finding a good Indian Restaurant.

Does anyone have an idea about how POIs could be created to ID public Radio Stations that are probably within a car radio's reception during cross country trips?

I was looking over some stuff, trying to come up with some ideas for new entries for one of my POI files, and got thinking.

I've put several museums in my OC Attractions file, and when I was out surfing the web for ideas for new entries, I realized Laguna Beach has quite a bit of ... well I guess Public Art is the best term.

I was on the road this past weekend in Maine, and wanted to find one of those quick clinic, doc-in-a-box, places for a quick minor ailment (sore throat that had been bothering me for days). Basically, the walk in places that prevent you from needing to go to an ER.

None of the nuvi provided POIs had anything listed.

I think this would be a great POI. Maybe not the whole trail but trailheads. I have found a few and know a few more but some people seem to keep them a secret for some reason. If we don't get out on the trails that's when they close them.
Would anyone be willing to help with this?
