POI projects

Hi,
I wanted to find out ( or may be suggest) to make, or if someone already made this POI.. For all-you-can-eat Brazilian steak houses in US, also known as Rodizio Chuurrascaria.....

Anyone working on this project for Philadelphia mass transit? I'm thinking of getting started with the regional lines.

For the address, I'd use the corner of two streets when listed by SEPTA. For the name, I'm thinking "R102-Springfield Road Station SEPTA".

Wouldn’t it be great to know where the most hazardous driving locations are?

I found an official data source from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) called the “5 Percent Report”, where each state identifies the most hazardous locations on their roadways. I would like to open a new project to get this data geocoded and up on the site.

Can we have consolidated files for like - all places of amusement, or all restaurants etc.

It does get tedious to search and upload individual files. Best solution for someone like me would be to upload that ONE BIG file and be done with.

Is there any implication to my suggestion apart from the size. I got a 8 GB SDHC on my Garmin 760 so I dont think space is an issue.

I have a recommendation here. Wont it be nice if we can have POIs by State.

That would be very useful for people to pick since its easy to pick base dont he state they live or the state they plan to travel to.

WHat is your opinion.

Sonic USA does not seem to want to convert so i can use it on my tomtom. all other files are working fine. thanks

I received a data format error on line 6931 when I attempted to load the cvs file. The latitude (second field) is obviously wrong.

I'm about half finished with a file of JCPenney Department Stores nationwide. I've coded about 550 stores and there are just over a thousand.

I'll post the file as soon as I'm finished.

I would like POI's of natural artesian spring mineral drinking water everywhere in the USA. I only one I know of exactly is located in Willimantic, Connecticut at the corner of Storrs Rd, and Foster Dr. The water is for free and it tastes better than tap water. Sometimes the city works department sets a large a cement block on top to prevent access.

My family has recently been limited to dining at restaurants that have gluten-free menus and are gluten-free friendly. This could be a useful POI for others.

At this time I do not have a list of restaurants but think this might be a useful projects for this gang to tackle.

I've adopted the Kinko's (uh, FedEx Kinko's) (no wait, FedEx Office & Print) POI which is quite out of date. I'll be updating it over the next week, but if you know of updates, please email them (with coords) to me or post them here.

I want to start a POI file of Hobby Shops. I would like to keep it to R/C cars & planes, models, trains, etc. Trying to avoid arts & crafts stores.

I'll start it with a few from the Chicago area, but lets hear your local favorites!
