POI projects

I'm thinking of starting a POI file of Mom & Pop Restaurants. You know, those locally owned and operated places that serve really good local food. jessjpm has volunteered to help.

There are already POIs for local burger joints, hot dog stands, bbq places and submarine shops (possibly others). This would be casual restaurants not fitting into one of the other catagories.

I just used my Garmin 350 on a trip to the Smokey Mountains. Wow... It made the whole trip better. However, my wife missed our dogs the entire trip and kept saying we should have brought them with us. Therefore, I thought of a cutom POI that would be great. If there was a list of the dog hotels in each state then we could take our dogs with us.

Folks, I downloaded and converted the Oregon State Parks .csv file into a .gpx. However, I receive an error in Mapsource telling me that it is an invalid file type when I try and open it, though other converted .gpx files open just fine.

is it just me?

It was brought to my attention that the Arizona campgrounds were mislabeled with AR instead of AZ. A new file has been uploaded.

Hi! Are there POI lists of Costco locations? Likewise is there a POI for Baja Fresh restaurants? Thanks ,Steve

I uploaded a new POI file for Winghouse Friday, How long before it comes available for download through the site?

My wife would love to have a list of Quilt shows around the USA.

I tried to find a POI file for all US Bank locations and can't find one here. Or if someone knows of a website that lists all of the locations I would attempt to create a file for people to use.

Starting in PA and plan to work state by state. I'm estimating it will take many weeks as my time is very limited. Will contact the OPC to see if they can provide any help in terms of a csv file with church name, address, and phone number. The name will include "opc" and the city. Service times may be included (posted question in another forum here.)

Scottk has made a great file, linked below including haunted houses and Ghost tours. I would like everyone to go take a look to make sure that their favorite spot is included.

Miss POI

I have been having trouble loading certain POI's into my Nuvi 200. I downloaded the hospital, Seven-Eleven and Flying J POI files to my POI folder. It loads all of the other POI files, but not these three. Any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong?

By any chance, did any of you went on a cruise in Europe and would have a personnal POI listing of the majors cruises ports locations.

I already found one for US & Canada but no sign of such a listing for Europe.

I want to start a poi file of used Record/CD/DVD stores. I would like to stick to non-chain stores, but local chains wouldn't be a problem. I am going to start with my favorites around Chicago. Where are your favorites?

I saved the restarea POI into a temp folder, but can't find it on my laptop. I checked every file I could think of but can't find it. Help. I'm running VISTA.

There is no "owner" listed for hospitals.csv.

The largest hospital in the area is not listed.

I am new and I am looking for POI that come up automatically as you approach the POI. I am traveling to LA and southern CA soon and would like to have this for my Garmin 260W can anyone direct me to what I am trying to find? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. I downloaded the Dunkin Donuts POI file from here http://www.poi-factory.com/node/5193 and did some extensive editing on it. It is now in the .CSV format used by GeePeeEx Editor ( http://GeePeeEx.com ). In other words, I split it out by street address, state , zip, phone number etc... So now it can be sorted on any of these fields. (I sorted it by state, the city, then street address).
