Indian Restaurants

If you are like me and my family, you are interested in finding interesting food when traveling across country rather than eating in the same places that are available locally in your own community. For us, that can mean finding a good Indian Restaurant.

This is my first project and would like your help. Please send me POI data on Indian Restaurants in you locale or that you find when Traveling Try to use the following Format:

lon.(exp)-123.456789
lat.(exp) 98.765432

Indian Restaurant

Actually, Lets use a 5 point scale for rating resturants:

Rating: 1 = could make you sick, 2 = Just passable, 3 =Average, 4= Above Average, 4 = Outstanding

numbers have always left me cold

Dear Trey,

Numbers are counter-intuitive. When folks rate something from one to ten, in some cultures Number One is best and in others Number Ten is best.

Going with your five-point scale above, it looks like the simple letter grades from F (failing) to D (barely passing) to C (average) to B (above average) to A (outstanding).

I have the same approach for rating movies. Most reviewers use those other methods for keeping the advertisers happy; however, I do like the pass-fail system initiated by Siskel & Ebert.

Ya but I assume this POI idea is based for America Indian restaurant and in America we tend to go with higher number is better (she's a ten, five star hotel, etc.). So his rating seems intuitive to me. Perhaps when he posts it, he can simply put in the write up that they are ranked on a 5 scale with 5 being best.

Three of Twelve Known

There are twelve or more Indian restaurants in town, but I've visited only these three. My co-workers and I have visited them for lunch several times, so I'd rate them high.

All offer a buffet lunch!

Dear GM,

There is an excellent restaurant on the Onondaga Indian Reservation in Nedrow, New York, just off Exit 16 on Interstate 81. I assume you are going to start a new string for the restaurants of this nation's indigenous peoples.

Funny! I didn't even realize how I wrote that. Of course what I *MEANT* to say was I assumed the POI was based on Indian Restaurants based in the USA, rather than "American Indian" .

It is perfectly fine to download this file and use it for your personal use. I want to just remind everyone that it would not be good to try to post this on our site.

Thanks,
