Another dumb question I suppose, but.... can you mix POI's on a SD card with Mp3's, and work or use them off the card without loading them into the GPS itself? For instance, Red Light locations, Mp3's, and POI's.

When i see the regular screen, I don't get to see any POIs. It's only when i go to maps or 'show map' screens, THEN it'll show me the restaurants. anyway i can have a it prompt me on the screen?

The POI Factory discussion forums have RSS feeds available. I haven't used RSS much, but some of you might find this useful. If you decide to give it a try, please share your results.

I just bought a c330 with Mapsource loaded. Will POI's help me in any way? Also, what size SD card would I need in the card slot?

How do i do transparency on the poi icons. I read that you have to use the rgb value 255,0,255 and i have tried that but it didn't work. I use photoshop and maybe there is a specific color profile i need to use or something. Someone please help. I hate the square that it leaves and want to remove it (for when i use an exclamation mark and want to remove the surrounding stuff).

My first post and just wanted to take the time to thank Ms. Poi and all the contributors here for their advice and donations of their POIs. I am a first time GPS owner, Garmin Nuvi 660, and found your POIs very useful and fun to play with. Hopefully in the future I will learn enough to contribute as well.

Hey everyone. Just wanted to say that it is great that so many other people out there find gps devices cool. Honestly, my story is, i get lost many times (and disoriented) when driving and often i have to call my father and ask where i need to go. I also have a very bad memory when it comes to specific names like people's names and road names. I got a gps device to alleviate my many problems. And i got it because i love to go hiking and do all kinds of outdoors stuff. I like getting lost in the woods but i hate getting lost on the road. When i am on the road i like to get to my destination safely. I love driving and will enjoy it more since i have a gps now. I actually plan on taking off work for 9 total days and driving north (i live in Georgia) half way through the week and then driving home. I would have never done that without a gps system. Well i would have done it but i would have to plan out everything i wanted to do. Now with the gps system i can get off track and do whatever i want and know the gps will still get me home safely.

I would be really interested to hear about peoples experiences with the mobile phone GPS units. How well do they work and are they easy to use? Do you like them better then the standard units?

Bought the Garmin c340 about a month ago. I love the unit and it has been helpful but, the big but, learned to always call a business before trying to locate it. The listing of restaurants is way out of date.

What does these files give you on the above subject. For instance, Childress, TX.. Is it just information on the city as a whole, or does it include streets, ect.? I'm new to the GPS world, so if I ask too many questions, tell me. It won't hurt my feelings. I know they are elementary to the majority of you.

do you know if i can download these POI files on your website directly to my garmin, or do i need toinstall an SD card for them?

also, do you know if there a memory limit as to how many POI files can be downloaded?

is crawling into the computer today to get some programming done, so that means that I am in charge of answering questions on the forums.

I've been having fun with my nuvi. But, it's pretty worthless on the water, when I go kayaking, because it keeps wanting me to take some road. And, day hikes in forests and what not don't register on it either, in terms of little backwoods trails.

So, does anyone know if there is a brand of GPS out there which can fulfill both roles,being good for both marine as well hiking trails? I really have no desire to own 3, one for each specific purpose. What's the cost? Water proof/resistant? Good for all of N.America, or just part of it? Thanks.

Hello everyone. I just purchased a Garmin c320 as my first GPS unit. I purchased it as a Christmas gift to myself but don't think I'll be able to wait until the 25th to open it.

I happen to stumble upon this site and think it will be extremely useful in my getting to know my c320. I'm the tyupe that needs to know all the features/capabilities of a new toy. Reading some of the post already shows me I'm in the right place.

I would like to add you guys to my site and wouldn't mind adding a banner with a hyperlink associated with your URL. My site is slowly being converted from a family web page to a Lake Norman and Mooresville, NC, area info page, so this would fit well.

If you're interested, I'd be glad to host a weblink and banner with your url, if you can either provide me some graphics to use, or allow me to copy from your site (I can take a copy of the header that you've currently got and drop it directly into my banners if you don't mind).

Trying to download US and Canada Ikea POI, loader is saying invalid, I was able to load the Lowes file. please advise.
