Is there anything like a bluetooth adapter that you can buy and hook up to a garmin non-bluetooth gps and turn it into a bluetooth gps? I know there are a lot of bluetooth gps available, but i talking in terms of someone that has a non-bluetooth gps and does not have the money for a new one that is bluetooth capable.

How can I download just the POIS for my area (DFW)? Just found this site and I don't really understand how this works.

I have read in several posts that ppl may have trouble with their mounts sticking to the windshield. Here is a solution that works great!!!

Cover the suction cup with a VERY thin coating of vaseline. It works wonders!

As I mentioned earlier, the new server became available yesterday. I've been busy with setups and modifying scripts to work in the new environment.

I still have some testing to finish, and if everything goes well, I expect to move POI Factory late Tuesday night / early Wednesday morning.

I know that this sounds sort of old fashioned, but I still occasionally need to find a public pay telephone. Yes, I have a wireless telephone that is with me all day long while I am out in the car, but every so often I find that I need to locate a public pay telephone.

I am back home now and will be trying to catch up today and tomorrow. Not very happy with the internet service that my parents use. I was not able to get online until I got home a half hour ago.

Do you guys realize how much talking you do in a day and a half? I have 3 pages of unread posts to get through.

It is nice to be home.

I work with my POIs at home and at work (don't tell anyone). I use to put them on my flash drive and transport them back and forth. However, I often forgot which ones were the most recent, which folder had the 'new' POIs in it. Sometimes, I would overwrite and loose the ones that I downloaded.

This is just something that having a shiny, new GPS brought to mind.

Does anyone hae a list of historic or points of interest along the Natchez Trace Parkway. I'm planning a trip down it this summer and would love to creat a file with proximity alerts for all of the landmarks.

I have a list of landmarks with mile markers but not the GPS coordinates.

Any ideas?

I just got my GPS unit , KNA-G510 by Kenwood. have the DDX-6019 to play with it.
New in the forum, and really looking to contribute on San diego, CA, and BAJA California,Mexico POI's.

Someone made a suggestion about 3 weeks ago for a good POI. I am currently creating a "Offbeat Tourist Attractions" POI.

Since this is my 1st attemt in creating one, I would like some feed back from othere users here for the following:

1) Should I create 1 big POI file, Or should i breat it down by states?

2) Would you even be intrested in a POI like this?

I own a Nuvi 350 (hence the title) I have a few questions that i couldnt find as i was navigating the site. first off how do i delete a pre- loaded file such as a wal-mart that hasnt been on a certain street for about 6 years now (there are more). 2nd can i load cvs gpx and whatever other files on my unit? What do they mean? And 3rd anyone having luck with the Fm traffic option?

Ok, so I go and post a topic or reply to one. It automatically takes me back to the thread. Now, to get back to the particular forum that I want I have to click on the "Discussion" tab at the top of the page to get back and start all over. If I simply use the link, then it takes me back, but shows all text of the thread.
