Garmin CITY NAVIGATOR NT EUROPE ON SD CARD v9

I'm heading off to Europe for a couple of weeks and have just ordered the Garmin CITY NAVIGATOR NT EUROPE ON SD CARD v9 - Model # 010-10680-00

I wanted to pass on my research for saving some cash on this item.

- on Garmin website: $349.99 + $6 S&H = $355.99

- on Dahhanes Co. Electronics & Supplies: $250.90 + $12.95 S&H = $263.85

* a savings of $92.14!

is it safe to download?

Just wonder these files are free of virus?

Anyone else having a problem with their unit no adjusting to the time change? The time setting is on automatic, but it has yet to update.

Looking for travel guides with text

Any links to free travel guides that have text intead of (or in addition to) audio?

Prefer ones that include reviews/color commentary - not just addresses.

Officer I'm sorry I was going the wrong way on that one-way street but my GPS told me to turn left ... Oh, I'm still getting a ticket, okay then the GPS will see ya in court!

Red Light Cameras By Cities

How do you sort out only the Red Light Cameras by cites.
I only want the cities in my area, not all over the U.S.. Can this be done? If so how.

Arrival times

I have a Garmin C330 and I have noticed that it estimates arrival times based on using a speed 5-6 mph over the actual speed limit for the road. I don't know of a way to adjust this. Has anybody else noticed this? Do other GPS brands allow you to adjust the way arrival times are calculated?

Sup Folks!

I just got my Garmin Zumo 550 last week and found a link to this site on another forum. What a cool concept and I'm glad such a site exists! I've already reported two red light cams that I know of. I ride a couple of different bikes. A 2000 Honda VFR800FI and a 2005 Honda VTX 1800N3.

Data base for Log & Lat to convert to an address

Has anyone ever seen a data base that will convert
Log and Lat to an address?
Can you limit the number of times a red light alarm
will continue to beep or can you controll duration?
It is annoying when you are stuck at a light and it
continues to go off.

Your Thoughts On POI-Factory!

JM and Miss Poi, you guys keep up the great work.

I know how hard it is to do something like this from your real jobs, Like I said in the older days, I ran a BBS and users were good and so bad..

I applaud you in this GREAT FREE SITE and if there is anything I can help in, just ask!

People.. Be kind, and just enjoy the SYSOPS to keep this site running...

New Nuvi Line 200 , 250, 270

New nüvi line : 200, 250, 270
http://www.garmin.dk/products/description/5/13579/

The indication that the 250 was in the works was first spotted by jotne here at the end of last year and this new line is now coming to life, with its first appearance most likely at CeBIT at the end of the week.

Anyone have a handheld GPS AND an integrated GPS in their car, too?

I am shopping for a new car but many of the vehicles have GPS built in. If I bought a vehicle, I would still use my Nuvi.

What do all of you guys and gals do?

Should a car with GPS dissuade me from buying it?

RED light POI does not include street names

I would like to know how to get the red light POI with street names rather than the criptic description , this would allow me to check and see if any new cameras being added already exist.

Underwater GPS

From www.newscientisttech.com - story available via:

Quote:

GPS does not work underwater-the radio signals on which it depends cannot pass through water. So submariners have yet to benefit from the revolution in navigation that it allows.

No address found

I just bought a Nuvi 660 and I love it but there have been a few addresses that it does not recognize. Does anyone have any ideas of a fix or do I just need to wait for the next revision of map to come out?

Mystery Line

What's the significance of the line that's under the date at the top of each post. The length of the line seems to vary.

Is this some kind of secret code?

Hmmmm.
