on a garmin c 330 ,if i load a custom poi for ,lets say interstate rest areas.what exactly does it do ,does it show on my map ,alert me im close to it ..or do i have to set a certain poi rest area as my destination.

I've been using the final version of poi loader and haven't tried installing the new Beta version yet.
I've very picky about my PC and would like to ask a quick question.

Do you have to uninstall the old version 1st before you load the Beta version or can you load right ontop of it. Some programs let you install over the top of them and I'm not sure it poi loader is like this.

Viewing Custom POIs on your GPS unit

• C320 - Select “Where To”, “My Locations”, “Custom POIs”
• C510 – Select “Where To”, “Extras”, “Custom POIs”
• i3 - Select “Food Hotels and More”, “Custom Points”
• Nuvi 300/310 - Select “Where To”, “My Locations”, “Custom POIs”

Recently loaded a few points of interest just to see how and if it worked. I have a Garmin Streetpilot 550 so as you pass or go to one of these points of interest ie, superwal-mart, publix etc what is suppose to happen on your screen?

As I know that most of the high end GPS units from Garmin or TOMTOM are capable of realtime traffic alerts and weather alerts. Are these services availabe in Canada as well or just in US at the moment?

Was wondering, Is there a easy was to break down some of the poi files..

What I am trying to do is not have some of the files so big since I wont need all the areas, I am looking for just New York area and surrounding states. That will make all the files smaller.

However, I am not sure what the longitude and latitude would be.

Received email today re: nuvi 350 DST software update. They say..............
"The DST update for the 350 should be coming out shortly, because we are adding more than just the DST update this update is taking a little while to come out."

on my c330 should the gps mode be set to normal or waas/egnos?????

Hello...I am Old Dood and I am a new dood to the GPS world and this site. I am really into gadgets and this little Nuvi 350 is pretty sweet. I am a married guy with two kids and I travel to work about 150 miles a day. I have been waiting for a small pocket sized fairly priced GPS unit for sometime now. This Nuvi 350 is really pretty neat.

Hi everyone. Just curious if anyone knows about how much space all of Europe would take on an SD card. I know that North America takes about 1 gig, but how about Europe? Thanks.
