OK, here is something else that started AFTER the upgrade that I would like to know if anyone else noticed:

I'm new to the GPS world and am looking towards purchasing a Garmin c320 within the next week or so. Just curious, for a map update to be effective, does one have to update every year or do I have the option to update every other year (e.g versions 10, 12, 14 and so on)?

I have been getting a very large number of red light camera location reports and I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge that.

As we are new to all this GPS stuff, we initially found we were taking the machine (which after all, thats what it is, just a machine) far too literally. Then we started taking its directions with a pinch of salt and thinking "What the ...... ?"

how do I delete custom poi's on my garmin c340?

Once an active member always an active member? Once I get my little windmill, it is not forever? How sad. I was busy for a couple of weeks and have not been on much, so no more windmill. Do the same rules apply to keeping it as to receiving it? 3 weeks out of 5? How do you get a compass? And the other little icons (I think it is a trophy)? What do they all mean?

I updated my c550 and I am not happy with the changes. I am wondering what others think of the changes.

are there any dowloads for the c 330 to change the voices ?

Garmin lists POI Loader v2.4.0.0 as a beta release and to be "used at your own risk". I've been using it and never had any issue with it at all. Usually when I think of a beta release of any software, I think of it as buggy.. and usually it is. So I'm just curious, have any of you had any negative experiences or found any bugs at all with this version? Because it seems perfectly fine to me.

I recently installed the red light POI on my Garmin 530. When I go to my computer and open the Garmin directory there is a POI folder indicating the file size 204K . However the red light file is 139K. I assume there is a file or files that came with the unit. Does anyone know. I want to remove the file from the internal memory and put in on the SD card

I just wonder if anyone can send or text IM to anyone who own GPS about the police who using radar guns on some location

WOW! What a cool website! I'm really excited to be here and looking forward to using some POI's. I live in Lexington, SC and work in the Environmental field. I have had a few Garmins and other GPS's but am now using a Garmin c330.

I'll be asking lots of questions in the future...

I have been playing around with POI files the last few days and I have a few random thoughts to share:

I have not been able to download it. is it in CSV format?

if it is, does anybody know how to convert it to .SPUD for MIO?

I have been searching how to do it? but was not successuful.

Has anyone seen or atempted to wire their unit directly to the fuse box?

What's the best accuracy, as measured in feet (or your favorite unit of distance), that your nuvi has reported on the satellite acquisition screen?

So far the best I've seen is "19 feet". I have a nuvi 660.
