I just started doing POI's and used Yahoo on GPSV and it sent me a 1/2 mile away from the actual destination. I reloaded it using Google and had my GPS show me the map and it was dead on.

Here's the weird thing.

I am planning a trip from MA to see my daughter in NC. When I put in the destination the Nuvi plots a route right through NYC; through Brooklyn, over the G.Washington Bridge, etc. I hate driving through cities and want to plot a route to avoid the city all together. Is there a way to configure a route and load it into my GPS or am I stuck with what it dictates? Thanks.

Just wanted to say hello to the group. My wife and I moved to the DFW area in January from Rhode Island due to a job transfer. We actually drove out here twice...once in my vehicle and then once again in hers once the house in RI sold. We used a Garmin c330 to get here the first time, and we liked it so much, we picked up a second c330 for her car for the second trip out.

I wish when I was in the Marine Corps, GPS was as good as it is today.. My Capt. wouldnt have got lost!!

I've done two trips cross country with my nuvi360 one to Florida, and one to Georgia both originating in Texas. The nuvi managed the route great but the arrival time is messed up because of the time changes going and coming back. I'm surprised its not smart enough to figure this out??

does anyone have a poi list for the SHEETZ stores in Pa,Wv,Va,Md,Oh,Nc ??????

on a garmin c 330 ,if i load a custom poi for ,lets say interstate rest areas.what exactly does it do ,does it show on my map ,alert me im close to it ..or do i have to set a certain poi rest area as my destination.

I've been using the final version of poi loader and haven't tried installing the new Beta version yet.
I've very picky about my PC and would like to ask a quick question.

Do you have to uninstall the old version 1st before you load the Beta version or can you load right ontop of it. Some programs let you install over the top of them and I'm not sure it poi loader is like this.

I am looking for GPS coordinates for the Upper Mississippi Pool 2 from River Mile 815 to 848. Does anybody know where I can go to get a list of coordinates that corresponds to the River Mile Markers?

Viewing Custom POIs on your GPS unit

• C320 - Select “Where To”, “My Locations”, “Custom POIs”
• C510 – Select “Where To”, “Extras”, “Custom POIs”
• i3 - Select “Food Hotels and More”, “Custom Points”
• Nuvi 300/310 - Select “Where To”, “My Locations”, “Custom POIs”

Recently loaded a few points of interest just to see how and if it worked. I have a Garmin Streetpilot 550 so as you pass or go to one of these points of interest ie, superwal-mart, publix etc what is suppose to happen on your screen?

As I know that most of the high end GPS units from Garmin or TOMTOM are capable of realtime traffic alerts and weather alerts. Are these services availabe in Canada as well or just in US at the moment?
