Skydiving Drop Zones POI

Do we use the Skydiving Drop Zones POI to hit them or avoid them?

Open post to GPS engineers

Greetings all,

A suggestion:

Please include data into the poi database such as a business's hours of operation.

Example, you are in unfamiliar territory and it is late. You select "all food". The GPS would know that it is late and would filter out businesses that have closed.

Adding a icon to 255w

How do I add a custom icon to the list of icons already on the 255W data base from garmin? I have lighthouse icon from POI Factory's list of icons that I would like to use on a site I down loaded from google Maps into my "Favorites". How do I do that or is it impossable?

Newby with Nuvi

I a very long time user of Garmin GPS's, currently have GPSMAP-60CSx, several etrex units a gps-12, nuvi 750 and 3-nuvi 255w's. I got the 255w units for my kids and thought I'd do some tinkering with them before I turn them over. I have some basic questions about these units and found this neat site doing a search.

New Here

I've had my GPS for awhile and just decided to update it a little bit. This seems like the best site for POIs, so I thought I would join and drop a line to thank all the people that have put stuff up on this site. Looking forward to many more additions in the future.

EZ Pass Lane assist

Just a thought, This probably is a bad idea but I would think that knowing which lanes at toll booths accept EZ Pass or similar, or cash only, would be very helpful. This would be a more dynamic feature than exit lane assist and would need more updating. Does anybody know if this has been discussed before? Regards, John

Who Dat?

Boudreaux died and was on his way down to hell. In anticipation, the Devil turned up the thermostat to make it extra warm for Boudreaux. When Boudreaux arrived, the devil asked, "Hey Boudreaux, how do you like it down there?" Boudreaux says. "Mais, it's just fine. It reminds me of summer on the bayou." That made the devil mad. That night, he turned the thermostat up all the way it could go.

Recommendation for a friend.

I have a friend who has been hired by the U.S. Census bureau to do Census work in a fairly rural area of Georgia. The maps for the area are really poor and he is considering his first GPS unit.

He does not have a lot of $ to spend on a unit, and I suggested he check out a Nuvi 650, which I have, because I found a refurbished one on sale on Amazon (http://goo.gl/LXXV) for only $165.

World War II-era navigation system shutting down

http://edition.cnn.com/2010/TECH/02/08/loran.navigation.shut...

Good night, Loran.

In a series of small ceremonies, the U.S. Coast Guard on Monday afternoon will shut down Loran-C, a navigation and timing system that has guided mariners and aviators since World War II.

bing map and streets n trips

Hello all,

I noticed that when I go to Bing maps I can send my found address and other data to my GPS however if streets and trips launches Bing Maps I can's send.

Im hoping that there will be a patch to S n T so that it passes the data to BING.

All of this trouble came about when Google maps stoped sending to my GPS.

Nuvi Nubee - What have I gotten myself into

Greetings from the Panhandle of Florida where it is chilly outside!

I am Bill, 1st time owner of a street GPS. I have a Nuvi 255w. Still learning the basics of it. Is it possible to plan routes like on Google maps or something? Is there a "Mark this spot" setting on it? Anybody else have this one? How is it being a Garmin owner?
