Hey All just got my first GPS unit a C330 from Garmin
Been using it now for 2 days (Back & forth to work anyways) and I've already found that this is a VERY useful tool. I can't believe that I waited this long to get one. Been going over the updates and I've got it up to the latest software version and voice version but I'm also looking for other FREE files. Anyone have any good places to go looking for stuff like POI's, voices and map updates?

Question? Greatest Distance
When using POI Loader in manual mode, what is the greatest distance that you may set under FEET ALERT?
TourGuide or NON TourGuide?
Thanks for your Comments, Help and feedback!

Hello! New Garmin nuvi 265wt user
Hello all!
Brand new to the GPS world. Just got my Garmin nuvi 265wt from Amazon today. It's the first GPS unit I've ever had. Any tips or tricks on it? Looking forward to using the many databases here on the site.
Thanks!

Stop at least 3 seconds at the stop sign and stop at least 6 seconds against red light when making the right turn!!!!
Better read this message very carefully. This is for real.
Some of my friends got fined for around $500. There are a lot of cameras on the intersections ready to get you.
REMEMBER TO STOP AND TURN, NOT RUN INTO RED LIGHTS, WATCH OUT WHILE YOU DRIVE IN THOSE AREA MENTIONED BELOW.
Beware of the last 2 lines at the bottom.

Road trip - Massachustts to Arizona
First time doing this. Heading from MA to AZ with hubby, two dogs, towing an enclosed motorcycle trailer with our BMW X5 4.4. Making a stop in Katy, TX for a few days.
The plan is to drive 8 hrs (stopping for the necessary pit stop and a bite to eat). We did a AAA trip tix and are doing Streets & Trips to download to the 2720.

Hi!
Just wanted to say Hi and introduce myself. My name is Greg, and I currently have only one GPS (A Kenwood KNA-G510, uses a Garmin system), however I just bought my wife a Garmin nuvi 1250T for her birthday (please don't tell her). I live in Maryland and will be happy to help out with locations around here.

Thought I'd say Hi! to y'all
I've just joined the forum and thought I'd say hello to everyone.
While I'm not a GPS noob, I've just purchased a Garmin 775T, and am very impressed with it so far. There are some amazing features my 3 year old GPS didn't have. I love good tools, and great 'toys'!

Quest2 GPS hangup
Just wanted to ask if anyone has had a problem with a particular GPS unit (Garmen Quest2). I have had this unit for about 3 years and since starting to load poi's etc. It seems to hang up or go dead for periods of time can't even shut it off, so have to physicaly disconnect it and let the battery go down. Then I can re insert it on the bike and it seems to work ok.

Help new guy (where POI files show on the GPS)
Hello all
I'm new at this! Just downloaded and installed POI "Military Campgrounds" via the Garmin POI loader and I can not find any of the POIs I downloaded on the GPS. Is there something else I need to do?

Future Direction Of GPS: Single Function or Multiple Function
If you had influence over the future direction of GPS, automobile or others, would you prefer single function, meaning actual navigating and routing only, or do you prefer multiple function, MP3 player, XM/Sirius satellite, camera, TV, telephone, wifi internet browser, etc?

Site work... Converting some files
I wanted to let you guys know that I am shifting some files around today.
I am moving files from one database type to another.
The affected files will show up as new on the list. If these are your files, please do not be alarmed.
We are getting ready to convert to Drupal 6 later this fall.

Mac GPS Pro
I purchased Mac GPS Pro back at the beginning of the year to work with maps on my Garmin Oregon. I purchased the maps from Mac GPS Pro as well so that I would have what I think I needed. One of the neat things you can do with GPS Pro is upload your own raster maps and calibrate them with GPS Pro.

Magnetic vs. True North
I've searched here but couldn't find this. Please excuse me for asking what must be a very common question:
What's the difference and how does it affect me between "True North" and "Magnetic North"? Can it be as simple as one is clearly superior to the other?
I use my 60CSx for highway and geocaching mostly.
Thank you,
