I am a new user and you guys and girls are talking way over my head. I have a Nuvi 350 which as far as I am concerned is not good for much except getting me home but it is probably because I have not updated the data and I had no idea I could put any of my information into it.

i was just wandering if anyone had thought about a poi directory for World of Outlaw race tracks . i just thought it would be a nice addition to the poi"s.since this are tracks located out of the main stream of things

Why?.... When you share knowledge, you won't lose anything from you.

Looks like you can set your GPS within either corner of the dash board. So here's my question, if the GPS is not "upon" the windshield, can you place it anywhere on the dash without violating the below law? In other words, if your dash mounted GPS is one inch away from the windshield in the middle of the dash board, are you good to go for door-to-door navigation?

And we wonder why people are always looking at their cell phones/BlackBerries/Smartphones while driving.

Hi folks, newbie here. Please be easy on me. I'm a highly computer literate fellow, but I'm new to GPS. Having a lot of fun with my Garmin Nuvi 1300 so far. Drove home in a very VERY thick fog last night, and just having it on to "maps" was very helpful. I couldn't see more than 50-100 feet in front of me. Couldn't even see the exits.

This week we are recognizing the dynamic duo of Schumans and KMO.

Schumans, You created a program called POISync to help users download the files that are their favorites.
I can tell that the community really likes this new tool.

Although many GPS units come loaded with millions of Points of Interest (POI, my Garmin 765T did not produce any results using "24 hour" or "twenty four" for a pharmacy that was open 24 hours a day.

New from Tucson, had the dock mount 750 installed on Wed. Been researching Traffic/Speed Cam info for a few days found POI Factory about 3 hours ago. Looked interesting, "What the Hey" give it a try. Well I'm not a geek, took me about 10 minutes to go try time(had found and downloaded the Garmin POI Loader last night, I'm on dial up).

I just wanted to say hi to everybody, I have a question, I am running Linux on my laptop an need gps software? I’m new to this forum stuff. But I have been in to GPS’S since 1996.Thank’s for assume web site !!

Every GPS I've seen has the same misspelling of the street next to me. No houses are on the street so I can't enter a location in Navteq.com to get it corrected. Any suggestions for getting the spelling corrected would be appreciated. Thanks!

I am unaware of any GPS units that are boxed to include a "user manual". All I got was a "quick start guide".

Always encourage anyone who has just gotten a new GPS to visit the site of the manufacturer and download the User manual.

I went to http://www8.garmin.com/support/userManual.jsp to get one for my 765T and it gave me a lot of information as well as links to helpful sites.

Can we have a page where we list the poi from oldest to most recent (like the Recent POI Files but in reverse order).

The My Account TAB now has a much needed improvement

Maintainer for these POI files:
- Displays all the files the user is maintaining.

After I installed the lastest firmware update of the 800 series, I have noticed very slow drawing of maps on start up. Every time I stop the car and turn off engine, then restart, it takes from 1 minute to 1 1/2 minutes for the initial map to complete the map draw. Anyone else notice this?

Just curious. I uploaded a file in the 'outdoor' setion. It has some rc flying fields located in Michigan. It was monday when i uploaded it and I still don't see it there.No biggie Just curious as the the average time of files showing up. Should I reupload it? Thanks for a great site. helped me out a whole bunch.
