Contributors of the Week 2009-11-30
This week we are recognizing Glthomson and Perrdom.
Glthomson, You have been busy making files for the state of Kentucky. Great Job!!!
Perrdom, Sometimes I wonder when you sleep. You are one of the busiest bees I have here. I am still trying to catch up with all the busy work you tossed on my desk from last week. Thanks so much for all of your hard work, we really appreciate you.

More Proof Home should not be home
Here is another case where people just set the GPS to take them home, giving the thieves both a map to the house and the garage opener to get them in the front door.

Finally here (trip to Ecuador)
Well, after 21 months of booking, planning, buying, and anticipating, our trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos is finally here. Tomorrow at 10:00 AM we head for the airport and the adventure of a lifetime. We're taking the GPS with us to get the obligatory "Where Am I?" pic at 0 degrees latitude.

Download E85 Station POIs
Here's a site I just discovered that has POIs for TomTom and Garmin GPSs that allows you to choose from a national database that will include all E85 stations in the country, or simply choose which states you would like to have available. It is updated quarterly according to the site.

GPX vs CSV
Is there an advantage to using a CSV file versus a GPX file? Are they more difficult to update? Thanks!

Christmas Lights
I tried searching and didn't find a forum topic relating to Christmas Lights so I thought I would add one. I know they are very localized but I thought it would be nice to have a list of them.

Creative uses for the dashboard disc
Since the holidays will add many new PND users to our ranks, I think we experienced users owe it them to explain the purpose of the plastic disc that comes with the mount.
I used mine to cover a hole in the sill of my house left by removing an old water line. Works great, although the mice aren't too pleased. ![]()

Discarding "old" technology
I just got back from Hatfield McCoy trails in WV.
I had the chance to use my new Zumo 550.
However, I could not turn loose of my Rino 50HCx, even tho' the radio was not needed. I ended up using BOTH of them at the same time!!!
Is that normal???
Do others have a hard time letting go of the old familiar things? And moving on to the new and confusing one?

Country Crossing - Dothan, AL
The Country Crossing entertainment complex officially opened at 3:00 PM on 1 December 2009. In Alabama, gambling is illegal as well as just about everything else, but it was finally worked out that the slot machines are bingo machines. Anyway, to read all about it, click on www.countrycrossingalabama.com and check it out.

Contributors of the Week 2009-11-23
This week we are recognizing Raygus1938 for his outstanding contribution to the Chicago area Red Light Camera project. He found a new link that listed all the new cameras and now they are all included in the file.
I really appreciate all the hard work he invested in geocoding all the data for me.
I hope that everyone had a great holiday weekend.
