Forgive me

Did I miss the COW award announcement yesterday? Unread Post and Recent Post buttons didn't yield any results.

Experience With Tele-Marketers

My favorite personal experience was when this man called to tell me how much money I could save on my mortgage if I changed over to his company. (mispronouncing my name a few times along the way). He told me all about the options his company could provide. So, I let him ask me questions - nothing really personal - not for several minutes.

And now, back to your regularly scheduled forum - already in progress . . .

2 miles = $2 million per year revenue

My, my, my! The city of Hopewell VA is raking it in. 11 deputies to patrol a 2 mile stretch of I-295 for speeders.

Now the state is trying to put a damper on it.

Sorry, it is a lengthy article, but a good and informative read.

New GNSS Technical Wiki available

From ESA, the European Space Agency:

http://www.navipedia.net/index.php/Main_Page

"The reference for Global Navigation Satellite Systems."

It's in early beta, but looks incredibly promising, with coverage of all the global and local GNSS being developed.

Viewing POI file content

Is there a way to view the content of a poi file prior to downloading it into my GPS? I want to see if the poi's are of interest to me!

This week we’re recognizing lwk.

Over the last few weeks, he’s been helping us update the camera information for British Columbia.
We’ll have the Vancouver area completely cross-checked with this week’s update.

Thank you lwk!

Digital Media Receivers - threat to GPS?

It seems to me that we have too many options right now. I like my 3 GPSs but some like to use their cell phones as a GPS. In my vehicles, I have CD players, radios, and MP3 playback though the Garmin or off my phone. It's nice to have lots of options but it seems like there is some unnecessary redundancy.
