Monthly GPS Deals/Bargains sticky thread?
Happy Superbowl Eve everyone. I wanted to toss this idea out for discussion.
What do Mods and everyone else think about having a monthly sticky thread for posting GPS related deals and bargains that we may discover in our internet travels?

GPm files
Every time I try to down load a GPM file it wants to open in Microsoft Office while CVX files open in Excel. None of the files that try to open in Office are usable. Anyone know what is going on? I use windows 7

In danger of losing your windmill?
Maybe you can share with us the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you use it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.) Anything to keep your windmill alive.
This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

Best way of routing fastest route real-time? (traffic on my Garmin is useless)
The traffic receiver on my Garmin is horribly stale, or inaccurate. It almost always misses rush hour traffic and if I'm in an area I'm unfamiliar with, the routing to get from point A to point B the fastest way is important.

Galileo Whistler GPS
This thing is driving me nuts!!!
It is not user friendly. Can anyone suggest a model that doesn't require a PHD to operate?

Consumer Reports
The March 2013 edition of Consumer Reports has a one page article evaluating Garmin, Tom Tom, & Magellan GPS models.
Not an earthshaking article but one of interest in comparing various models.

An Odd Scene in Google Maps
GlobeTurtle found this image in Google Maps today. It looks like some sort of police activity involving a stopped big rig truck.
(it takes a couple seconds to load after the empty intersection)
Not something you see every day ![]()

Looking for a multi-point routing GPS or App
I've been out of the GPS scene for a year or two, due to the type of work I was doing.
Now have a new job which involves a LOT of driving. I'm a field service tech for restaurant equipment.
So when I get called I'd like to be able to input the next location into the unit/app and it figure out where to go to next. There are sometimes 4 or 5 places in the queue.

Trapster vs. Waze, or Both?
I've been wondering what peoples' experiences have been with Trapster and/or Waze, and the pros/cons of one compared to the other. In my non-scientific "tests", I have found them both to be useful sometimes, and both to be useless sometimes.
