Garmin talk

Newbie here. When browsing my Garmin's internal files from my PC, I noticed that there is a manual for the 600 in PDF format. This is taking up some space that could be used for other things. Plus, I already downloaded my 650 manual onto my PC. Is there any
problem with deleting the 600 manual?

I just got a Garmin 330 and I want to load addresses from a file without having to enter them directly into the unit. Can I load a POI (csv)file without the coordinates?

From what I can tell, seems like I have to create a POI file with coordinates and load that. Doesn't really make sense to me.

The Illinois Toll Authority just opened the extension of I-355 from I-55 to I-80 in the Chicago SW suburbs. How long will it take Garmin to issue map updates? I ask because there is this new hunk of highway about 5 miles from me that isn't on the map.

Can somebody help me i have a Garmin nuvi 350 i made the mistake and bought it on ebay with no warranty (some yellow form that came in the box). I was putting POI on it when my chair ran over the usb cable and disconnected it from computer, and now when i turn it on it is stuck on loading maps screen.

I'm a new Garmin-ite. I downloaded two POI files (Costco gas stations and RV Dumping sites) to my computer, connected it to my Gamin, and uploaded the files to the Nuvi 660. Now I can't find them on the device. I thought they would show up under "Extras" "Custom POI"s but there's nothing there. Where else would they be?

We are going to be purchasing our 1st gps unit & need some advice on which one to get.

Initially, I was all for the 680. I really like the MSN service - the gas updates, the traffic info. We live in Hampton Roads, VA. I have heard that the updates may be about 20min delayed unless in the DC area. I can't believe that the MSN cable is over $100!! I think that's ridiculous!

I just saw the Black Friday ad for Best Buy, and they will be offering the Nuvi 660 for $399.99, with no rebates involved.
They will start handing out tickets at 3 AM and they will open at 5 AM.

The StreetPilot i3 does not support the use of custom sound files for POI files.

The default is used for every alert and can be easily overlooked.

So is a way to select a different (aka: built in) alert sound for a POI file?

I just bought another Nuvi 360 and it had software version 4.2. The 2 months old 360 that I had, had software version 3.9. I checked on the Garmin website and the latest software version is 3.9. What is going on here?

I'm new to my unit so my question might be obvious:

When I've installed several POI sets to my device, how can I see the most proximate one/ search them *from a particular set*?

I was graciously sent a free copy of the above by Garmin support. I requested a way to backup my Favorites which the program does quite simply. I have a SP c340. Can I edit the data and send it back to my GPSr? Can I add waypoints and send them to the unit?

Like an idiot I mistakenly deleted the gmapprom.img file from my 200W. Garmin is sending me the file on a disk thru the mail in 10 days. Is there another way to get this file to copy/paste it in the unit?

Has anyone had a power cord failure. My cord just stopped working and the cigarette plug end started to get very hot. I checked the fuse and it is still good but no power is coming to the cradle end.

I AM A MEATHEAD. I INSTALLED THE POI LOADER AND SPENT HOURS LOOKING FOR THE NEW POI'S.

I have Delorme map software and can pull up coordinates for locations. When I trid to make a poi it was 19 miles off. New to all this tried searching found confusing stuff. I'm sure its something simple any help thanks in advance.

I have the lastest POI software along with my Garmin 680. Has anyone had this problem?

Does anyone know how or where to get different voices for the Nuvi?

I just purchased a nuvi 660 and would like to know if I have to load Audible Books and MP3 files through a direct connection between the Nuvi and the computer or can I just load the files on the SD card directly from the computer?
