Thanks.

Thanks. I just upgraded because my nuvi 200 was acting flakey after downgrading from 3.4 to 3.3.

I also updated the British voice.

Voice

Are we able to change the voice when we update? Not a big thing just wondering.

I updated the British English voice.

I updated the British English voice. The update is supposedly cleaner, less distorted. I am very disappointed with the updated voice. It is less distorted, but slower and much less natural sounding. I'm probably going to restore the original voice files from my backup.

The Version 3.50 update removes all map scale indicators.

The Version 3.50 update removes all map scale indicators.

Since updating, my nuvi no longer displays map scales on any screen. I will let Garmin know about this. Hopefully, it is a bug, and not an intended "upgrade".

Version 3.50 also removed tracking Easter Egg

Just read on GPS Passion that the tracking log Easter Egg has been removed. Probably won't be implemented on the 2xx.

NUVI 200 (v3.50 update)

Sorry to ask a newbie question here (I've only had my 200W for a month and a half--my first GPS), but when I went to the Garmin uploader site, it only listed a v2.80 software update. What am I missing? Thanks in advance for any help.

Different Version for Wide Screen?

My guess is that the Wide screen models have a different version number for their system software.

The latest version for the nüvi 200 is 3.50. Since manual updates have been removed from Garmin's site, the only way to check for new updates in with WebUpdater.

If you like having the map scale on your screen, don't update.

Couple of things. Did you use the webupdater to update the firmware?

Second, you are sorta (I think) are confusing the firmware and the mapset. They are two different things. Yes, you have the most current maps. I am not sure what the most current firmware is for the 200.

I just got my Nuvi 200w and there was no USB cable. Although apparently a standard cable (mini connector) will work.

Well, that sucks that the

Well, that sucks that the cable didn't come with it, but yes, you are right any mini usb cord will work.

caveat emptor!

The 200 & 200W Nuvi models are NOT delivered w/usb cable!

Before making any purchase decisions, it is a very good idea to check ALL informations posted on Garmin's website, as a first step.
Whining afterwards is not usually helping too much...

Cable

I got my cable at Target for about 9 bucks.

I have so many mini USB cables

I have so many mini USB cables from cameras and MP3 players that I don't really care if anything ever comes with a USB cable again! I keep one at home, in my brief case, at work, etc.
