How do I Remove a .gpx file I inserted into the Garmin/GPX folder??

I've loaded a 3rd party .gpx file onto my Nuvi 750 by placing it in the Garmin\GPX folder directly from my computer. It incorpotated it just fine, but now when I look up ANY POI, the .gpx file I loaded in shows ALL THE POI's in the .gpx file ALL THE TIME. The Nuvi then incorporated them into the "current.gpx" file. Since I don't want the POI's to show every time I look at the map in my area, I want to remove those POIs.

How do I remove the .gpx file (or the POIs in that file) from the "current.gpx" file???

Thanks,

rdadd

CURRENT.GPX is an output file.

Current.gpx is primarily an output file (look in GarminDevice.xml on the Nüvi and you'll see it says: "TransferDirection=OutputFromUnit"). So, it is a actually a backup copy of your current Favourites. It is written at every boot (some units/firmwares wait for a satellite signal first, so the time stamp's correct).

So, you'll have to use whatever feature the Nüvi 750 provides for getting rid of Favourites - I don't have one, so don't know the detail.

GPX

I had the same thing happen, luckily the .gpx I added was a small one. I opened the current.gpx file in notepad and deleted all the waypoints that I didn't want. they start at wpt then the data and end with /wpt. There is undoubtedly a faster way, but this is a method.

?

Current.gpx is an OUTPUT file. Deleting its contents does not affect the units favourites.

When the unit boots, it scans the entire file system for .gpx files (it finds its own current.gpx during this scan and treats that as an input file too). Each file is deleted after processing.

It then adds any new ones it finds to the internal list and writes the whole list out to current.gpx, replacing its original contents (if any).

Instead of delete one by one, you can go to "Where to" and touch "Delete All" and it will delete all Favorites and Custom POIs. Just reload the POIs again.

I have two Nuvis and I cannot find "Delete All" after touching "Where To" on either one.

Where is it, please?

I don't think there is a

I don't think there is a delete all. Since they are all incorporated into the current.gpx file you need to delete them one at a time.

There will most likely be 2 gpx files in that folder. One will be current.gpx and the other will be the one you stuck in there. You need to hook it up to a computer and delete the other gpx file. Then either use EPE to look at the current.gpx and delete the individual entries or do it individually through your favorites.

Your account shows 265 and 1450. Located on the 265 where to screen ,select tools bottom right then my data. You will see selection for delete favorites. Touching it will allow you to select all or as many as you want.

For the sake of clarity

What Charles mentions applies to both the 265 and 1450, as they use the same interface.
