I've been trying to download a POI file into my device and I keep getting the following error message.

"there is a problem copying the data to the data card"

"the device is not ready"

I am not using a data card. I have Nuvi 350.

How do I fix this?

I just purchased a MSN Direct receiver, base on the MSN Direct Web site, showing very strong coverage for the City of Edmonton and surrounding areas.

I am very disappointed, of the eight type of services apparently offered (look up the Web site) only three are currently available, the ones that I was hoping to get like "Traffic", "Gas Prices", "Movie Times" and "Local Events" are not.

I just purchased the GARMIN 660 and tried to sync-up with my cell (Samsung-sch a870) - I contacted GARMIN's help desk who said if it is not on their Web-Site as an accepted unit then I am out of luck (not those words exactly). I was just advised to wait with no idea of knowing if it is on a to-do list.

i recently purchased a new garmin nuvi 680. can the POI files from this site be loaded onto the removable SD card instead of internal GPS memory?

On our recent visit to the Tucson/Phoenix area our Garmin was taking us on all the back roads. I check the route both on fastest route then on shortest route. Both routes were the same...off the highway.
I turned the unit off and back on to reboot, but still nothing.
Finally I hit the "restore settings" and boom, the highway route appeared when I put in our destination again.

Is there a way to turn off the beep when typing on the Nuvi 750? It's really annoying....eh?

I just got a new Nuvi for me, and am giving the spouse my old one... Is there a way to transfer my favorites easily?

I'm thinking about adding a GTM 12 Traffice Receiver and subscription to my Nuvi 350, but would like the opinion of someone who has used the device and the service. Is it worth the money to add this?

I ran into problem yesterday where i was driving from los angeles to orange county using nuvi. Midway, it stopped routing w/o any warning and just displayed the speed in left lower corner, direction in right corner, and the name of the exits i passed by on the top. Happened two or 3 times. I pressed the reset button once i reached surface streets. but stil strange.

When I enter an address to search for, it picks the first street it comes to that matches the spelling as I am entering the street name.

How do I enter the whole street name, to get to the real street I want?

I'm a fairly new owner of a Nuvi-660.

I know that the 660 has a Garmin FM-Traffic Receiver available for it, but does anyone know whether the traffic info from MSN Direct can by any means be made to work on a 660? I know that it's made to go with the Nuvi-680, and that the MSN Direct's cord plugs into the 680.

Is this software different than City Navigator 2008? and how is it different?

If it is different, can I use it on my nuvi 650 and how do I do that? (change between two different maps)

Do I need an unlock code for this dvd?

My LG chocolate will not upload the phonebook to my Garmin C550. yes I have updated with the latest firmware etc etc. HELP!

Suppose I have a folder with a couple of files say "rest stops" and "food". I have protected this folder so that I won't overwrite by changing the name. Then I want to add a "rest stop" to the existing file. Can I do this as long as the file "food" is in the same folder. If so, how or should I just have one file per folder and protect each file by changing the name on the SD?

First question is re Motorcycle Moma's instructions for storing POI's on SD card. In no fewer than 5 seperate posts, she has said that if you choose the SD card as the target drive for POI Loader, when the unit boots and asks whether you want to copy to the Nuvi, you should check to box to not ask again and then say yes.

YES I have yet ANOTHER POI question. When I have the POI files on my computer they are all in alphabetical order HOWEVER when I create the POI file with POI Loader and upload them to my Nuvi 660, the order is all over the map. What's the secret to having them all show up in alphabetical order on my Nuvi?

Do I need to rename them differently on my computer?

Anyone have a workaround that will enable me to set up routes on my 360? I'm a Realtor and it's something I would use a lot.
