Garmin talk

In June '23 I reported the above problem and I believe that I was not the first. Today I received an email indicating that there is a new version and all is well. I think I noticed this perhaps >1 month ago. Noticing means recognizing the absence of Drive near the top of the list in Battery Usage in Android Settings.

I recently purchased a DriveSmart 76 EX. I updated it with the latest maps and the firmware (v6.80) was already the latest. But there is a bug in the firmware. When I am on an active route, the green bar at the top of the screen does not show the name or exit associated with the next action. It just says "Driving West" (or whatever direction you are driving).

After my last update on my Nuvi 3597, I lost my home page. I went to input an address and the whole page is missing. It seems that all of my saved POIs are missing too. Does anyone know how to get it back.

I have a new Garmin and I am trying to get POI's from here, but they will not load to the Garmin, what am I missing?

I somehow managed to break the socket on the back of my Drivesmart65. I haven't had this for even a year.

I don't know if I have named the part correctly and I don't know if it is easily replaceable. It is where the ball end of the mount attaches.

Please help.

So, recently my DS76 started to suddenly dim the screen and tell me that the power had been lost and that it was going to shut down. I could touch "Cancel" and could keep going, but with bright sunlight and sunglasses, it was almost impossible to read the screen. Made for "Distracted Driving". This only happened on a hot day and when the DS76 was in the sun.

Wanting a larger screen, I have been looking at a DriveSmart 86. The only requirement I would want is Lifetime maps. Nowhere can I see if it has it or not. Anyone who has one, what are the pros and cons?

My Nuvi 3790 LMT has given up the ghost. What unit would be recommended to replace it? Is the life time maps still available? Don't care about the Traffic option. The Garmin based GPS in my Honda CRV is pretty good but doesn't give text to speech. It will say "Turn right" but my 3790 would say " Turn right on Main Street" Thanks in advance for any assistance.

As the title says Basecamp crashes when transferring route to RV890. Tried multiple times, rebooted laptop, and Garmin, using genuine Garmin cord. Device fully updated and battery charged. Transfer does not go through.

Any suggestions.

Does Garmin have an issue w/ Walmart resulting in 'spotty' marking of their locations? I have CNNA 2024 & some locations have a white shape showing the store & is labelled Walmart. Other locations will have the shape, but instead of the Walmart label, just a 'stack' of icons for the various businesses that are usually associated w/ Walmart stores.

The Garmin Alpha200 handheld has a directory path of Garmin/EDM/trkevt
In this folder are lots of trk(number).bin files.

Does anyone know how to open these files or convert them to GPX?

I am unable to get my POI showing, I have the map layer on. I see them in categories-POI so there are loaded.

I have tried everything I can think of.

Any suggestions.

There was a post here indicating a certain GE version was last for W7-64...

I'm on W7-64 (Must stay there due to software running on this system is not update-able...)

I stopped updating GE at 7.17.3.0 and it still works.. Shows a TZ map update is available, and did update last maps fine on 2x 2689LMT's

So the other day I plugged my DS65 into my computer (Windows 7), was informed there were updates. Approved all and walked away, came back abit later and it's all finished.
But, now I am getting school zone alerts where there are no schools and speed reduced zones where there never were any before. (Edmonton on the Whitemud drops to 60 for a bit before going back to 80.)

Garmin Express for Windows and Mac 7.22.1.0 now available for download.
Just downloaded and installed it on my Mac.

I have a Drivesmart 65 and there are times I will take a trip where I would like to take highways for most of the trip. I will set the destination with "Avoid Highways" unchecked and start my trip.

Garmin Express 7.22.0.0 showing available as of today. As a reminder GE installation folders, each around 125 MB to 130 MB may exist at C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\Downloads\Application. I keep the latest and delete the previous entries.
