DriveSmart 86: locking the backup camera guidance lines

When I used my DriveLuxe with Garmin BBC30 backup camera, the device offered an option to adjust the guidance lines displayed on the image when the camera is active and then lock them. That locking ensured that an accidental touch to the screen does not inadvertently start guidance lines adjustment.

Now I have DriveSmart 86 with BC50 camera. This device also has adjustable guidance lines, pretty much the same as my old DriveLuxe. However, I don't seem to find an option anywhere to lock them these lines. This can be quite annoying for the reasons mentioned above.

The weird part is that when the camera is active, the DriveSmart's display shows an "unlocked padlock" icon in the top-left corner of the screen. I strongly suspect that this "unlocked padlock" signifies the very fact that the guidance lines are unlocked. But how do I lock them?

P.S. If the "unlocked padlock" icon is intended to indicate something else, then perhaps someone here can enlighten about the purpose of that icon.

Step 5

I have seen that "Step 5"

I have seen that "Step 5" many times. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to find there. I know how to align the guidance lines in my device. My question is not about that.

My question is: how do I make sure that an accidental touch on the DriveSmart screen (while camera is active) does not make it activate the alignment mode again. I.e. how do I lock the lines?

Check mark

So are you saying that if you hit that check mark and then test, the lines aren’t locked?

What I'm saying is: if after

No, they aren't "locked" in the sense I explained above.

If after I hit that check mark, at same later time I purely accidentally touch the screen, the line adjustment mode will be reactivated. The green drag points will appear, the lines will become moveable etc. That means they are not locked.

I do not want this to happen.

DriveLuxe with BC30 had a feature designed specifically for that: locking the guidance lines. When the lines were locked, touching the screen wouldn't activate the adjustment mode anymore. One had to go into the menus, unlock the lines, and only after that they would become adjustable.

This is why DriveLuxe displayed that "padlock" icon on the camera screen. When the padlock was shown as locked, touching the screen would essentially do nothing.

DriveSmart also has a "padlock" icon on the camera screen. But it is always unlocked. My question is: how do I lock it?

(And if this feature has been removed, then I wonder what is the point of displaying that "padlock" icon on the camera screen at all? What is the point of having a padlock if that padlock is permanently unlocked?)
