Purchased a travel trailer, need some help in picking out a new a new Garmin GPS that would help me navigate with a new travel trailer 17ft.long. Thank you for your help, Ron.
Where will you be using it
Where will you be using it Canada or other countries?
What is your usage for the GPS? Highways? Camper camping sites? Speed Zones? Traffic?
Almost any of the Garmins will do that.
What size of screen do you want when driving?
Garmin RV Series
Take a look at the Garmin RV series. Here's a link for the RV 895. https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/850406/pn/010-02748-00#specs
There are features that can help towing a trailer, or driving an RV. It can route based on the length and weight of your vehicle and trailer. It can also be set to route based as your car if you're not towing the trailer.
I have the older RV 890 and it works fine for me. The 8" screen is easy to read and not too large for the dash in my car. I also like the mile marker information. The RV 890 has been discontinued, but you can get one for almost $200 less than the newer RV 895.
As with any GPS, pay attention to road signs for height, weight, and propane restrictions while you're driving.
