I do.....watcha looking for? Basically compared to the 200, the 260 will announce road names, POIs, etc. It's served me well but I haven't had it that long.
Welcome to site. I have had my 260 since April of this year. When I got it, I just plug it in and went for a ride. I thought it was great. The instruction book was lacking a lot of information.
Then I found the POI Factory. All that I have learned(and I am still learning) is from this site.
There are two topics under the tabs on top of every page " getting started and faq" you will gain a lot of information from them. Also there is a search box where you can look for a topic that may have been answered. You can always ask a question if you can not find an answer.
I have had a lot of problems with the 350 so Garmin is sending me the 260 to replace it. I was curious if it performed adequately for you.The 350 was replaced 4 times as they all were defective.
Thanks
I miss the ability to watch the latitude and longitude move like it did on my old Garmin eMap. Is there a way to get the nuvi 260 to have them displayed on the map as I drive or walk? I have discovered that it will show up if I touch the map somewhere other than where an address exists but I am looking for a way to get it active on the screen.
I bought my 260 as a used demo from a CarToys store. The screen had some slight scratches so they knocked another $25 off. The digitizer works perfectly so it was worth it so far. I have found it very trouble free.
I love my 260... it's been a lifesaver on several long trips, as well as getting me around in unfamiliar areas locally. It does everything that I want without all the extras that I don't want or need. I wouldn't trade it for any other unit that I've read about.
It seems that the nuvi must make some of its decisions based on how many traffic lights are on a particular route. Occasionally when I know the area I will ignore its suggestion because there is a freeway that parallels the course it is sending me down. It also seems to want me to make right turns even when they are not needed. Still, since I started using it instead of paper maps my driving has become much less stressfull.
I have had the Nuvi 260 since March and I love it. I have used it on many trips and it has proved to be a real sanity saver. I have even loaned it to skeptical friends who after using it once then went out and bought their own units. It seems to be the sweet spot in the lower price range. No problems what so ever. This site is a great source of all the "extra" POI you will need.
Go for it, you will not be disappointed.

Just got a 260 a couple of weeks ago. I really like it. One thing it doesn't seem to have is a Compass graphic on the map page. It would be nice to know what direction you're driving in.

The only way I know to get that info is to use the 2D view set to North Up. I use 2D with Track Up, but I don't usually need to know what direction I'm headed, and if I do I can get it with a quick touch. I think that so many cars have built in compasses any more that Garmin decided that it only needed to be a secondary function on most GPS models.
I noticed this with my old eMap unit also: There seems to be an internal counter that automatically names a favorite to the next number in its list. Mine is up to 006 now even though I have not used 001-005 for names. It is no big issue at all but I wonder if there is some way to move those numbers back to zero. I always back-space over the numbers anyway to enter the alpha-numeric name I use but I would like to know if there is a way to reset it.
After 2 1/2 years of owning a C330 and 1 1/2 years of owning a C340 I fell in love with the Nuvi 260 a friend bought. Since I don't need bluetooth and a lot of other special features I bought the 260 (new) at Amazon for less than $200 (total cost).
The 260 has many features my original units don't have but it was the thin package, which will allow me to mount the windshield mount higher on my window, that won me over. You can hardly see my mount for the C340 on my Taurus and I guarantee you won't see it for the 260.
Expect delivery in a couple days.
And I've got a buyer for my C340 so the new unit will only cost me less than $50.
Such a deal !!!!!!!!

I got my Nuvi 260 as a gift int he spring this year. Its never given me a moments hassle. With all the POI's formt hsi sight along with the 2009 maps. Its gone as far as to get me from Milwaukee to Perrault falls ontario canada. Its been easy to use, and a very nessesary conveniance when im looking to go somewhere ive never been before. Cant see travling without one now.
Ran into a traffic jam this past weekend coming back from a college football game, used the 260 to find some roads that ran alongside the freeway that saved me a ton of headaches coming home. I saved an hour in traffic time in comparison to another friend that lef tthe game at the same time.
I just discovered that OverStock.com has the 360 for sale for $219! The link is: http://www.overstock.com/Electronics/Garmin-Nuvi-360-GPS-Blu... and the unit is a refurb but it has MP3 capabilities and BlueTooth and has the GTM 10 FM TMC traffic receiver, an optional feature which allows users to avoid traffic tie-ups by simply pushing a button that will calculate a new route. Those features are not on my 260
I just discovered that OverStock.com has the 360 for sale for $219! ...
I got my 260 from Amazon a few months ago and paid $208 to the door. I could have gotten it a little cheaper by purchasing it from a seller I hadn't used before, so the few extra dollars to be sure I got what I ordered with no hassles wasn't an issue.
I did just look at the link cited above and then searched their site for the 260. $238 for a refurb?!
Really bad deal there...
dfg02790, I'll assume you've already gotten your 260 from Garmin by now. No doubt you are pretty happy with it. There are a few things I'd like to have on my 260, but like many, I didn't need all the extra bells and whistles of higher priced units. However, I just might have spent a few extra dollars and gotten a more capable unit if I had discovered this site BEFORE I made my purchase! The 260 still satisfies 90%+ of my needs, so I am very happy with it.
I inserted the mini SD memory card into my Nuvi 260 (yes, latest version has mini SD) and it went in too far.
Where can I find a writeup on how to open up the Nuvi, without damaging it, and removing the memory card.
I've researched looking for procedure but unable to find any writeup!
The card was working perfectly in the 260 before I removed it (duh) and reinserted it !
Any help will be appreciated.

Does anyone have any experience with the Nuvi 260?
I just upgraded from a street pilot to a nuvi 260w and so far it is great. It even has the where am I feature even though the garmin site says it does not.
The only thing I miss from the street pilot is the power cable being integrated into the cradle (on the nuvi 260w you have plug the cable in then mount it in the cradle)
I also have a 260, love like crazy. Had a 530 gave to my son for his use. The one concern I have about the 260 is the sound at highway speeds. The sound is "tinny". I tried the 260 at a local store and it sounded fine but the unit from Amazon is the updated 260 (where am I, turn indicator...) and it sounds thin. Anyone else find this?
Ive had ours for approx 1 1/2 years now works great but has issues too. Since I use it at work and know the area well its route planning/building is nuts. It will take you 3miles up side streets to go anywhere. I have also had it take me a very roundabout way to an address when a more direct route was just over a few blocks over. But still great to use on the road. When I miss an exit (not its fault) it will quickly build you another to get back on track. So for the money Ive been happy. Im sure that with all things More $$$$$$$ gets better results and even for more bucks has its issues too.
I primarily use it for the heads-up speed display rather than my speedometer... When I use it to find a location, ocasionally it takes me a round-a-bout way; but overall, I'm very happy with the unit. Recently I've had to change the fuse in the car charger. I found it at Home Depot.... It's a Bussmann fuse.... 1amp..250volts...fast acting.. measures 5mm in diameter and 20mm in length. It works great! Garmin does not sell fuses and wanted to sell me another charger for $49.00.... The fuses (two per pack) cost $2.97....
Yeppers!
