is there a way to have more than one gmapsupp file . 3rd party so they cant be built in mapsource.

Not sure which of your GPS units you are trying to do this on, but the nuvi unit will only read one GMAPSUPP.IMG file on the unit itself. You can place an additional GMAPSUPP.IMG file on the SD card and the unit will read both.
Are you sure the maps can't be loaded into MapSource? Most compatible third party maps have this capability.

no i cant load them . they came on an sd card. there is an app called patchimg which is suppsed to combine them but i cant get it to work

I have heard that patchimg will not work with NT maps.
Other filename...
You could use some of the other map filenames...such as GMAPPROM1.IMG or GMAPOEM.IMG
