Was that a valid offer - did anyone receive a free NUVI?

Many of us were not members last summer so I appreciate the OP's post.

In addition, it is easy to miss a new thread and it is not often one does a search for "free GPS".

I saw this on a few deal websites a while ago. I read that several people got theirs.
Do remember though that you are signing up for a new credit card. That means they will run a credit check on you. If you are not approved, a credit check might cost you some credit rating points and your next loan you apply for might cost you more money than the free GPS. Just something to think about...

Yep. I'm the one who posted the original thread here and I got my free nüvi 200. I made a new email account for the offer in case of spam. I made the email account back in June and, to date, haven't received a single spam mail.

The initial site is a third-party site which is the place that provides the GPS. Once I registered there I was re-directed to a secure discover card site where I applied for the new card. I was approved and, in a short while, the card arrived. I had to use the card in order to activate it.

I used the card on 7-10-08 and received the free nüvi in the mail, direct from Amazon, on 8-20-08. It's my wife's unit and it suits her just fine. The price was definitely right.

Yea it is valid. Got the discover card, got the nuvi, returned it to amazon for 150 store credit and bought a Nuvi760 for 350-150 = 200.

I just recently received my free Nuvi 200 about 4-5 weeks after the first purchase on the card. No snags, and it's a brand new unit.
