POI Loader 2.5.3

Doesn't look like they did much to update POI Loader.

Change History
Changes made from version 2.5.2 to 2.5.3:
Fixed issue with Asian language translated strings being incorrectly truncated.

Anyone want to see if they addressed anything we would have wanted?

Unless You Are Asian, Why Chance It?

The only reported change involves asian languages. So unless you are using asian languages, why even update the software.

Lately Garmin has been including a lot of unannounced changes with their software updates. And unfortunately a lot of those changes cause bugs.

So if your POI Loader is working, why update it?

I Agree

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

No Changes / Compulsion...

I didn't see any changes either. I don't know why I'm always compelled to update my software when available...I know it's gonna' catch up with me sometime...

Custom Folder

One way to speed it up, is to use the "Custom Folder (Advanced)" option instead - browse directly to the \Garmin\POI directory on the device or SD card, instead of letting POILoader search for it.

Left to its own devices, it's working its way through a list of possible ways of connecting ... presumably, each of which has a timeout associated with it.
(I get failed bluetooth connections to my phone as a result rolleyes)

Do you have any examples of the bugs you speak of?

Are You Serious?

There have been LOTS of threads discussing the various bugs affecting different Garmin models lately. Do a search for bugs or problems

other updates ...

I think GadgetGuy2008 was referring to bugs in some recently released firmware updates ... not POI Loader specifically
