Ok ,, Now I have another question for all the gurus.
I have an icon or picture that I want to use as an icon and I need to know how to resize the picture to 24x24 or the right size for an icon.

I saw in the FAQ sheet that the POI loader will not support the 478...Is there a loader I can use or an alternative method to upload POI's.

There is a street in my subdivision that is blocked that I want to avoid my Nuvi from routinely routing.

I downloaded mapsource and I located the blocked section on the map. I think I can set it as an avoidance but what do I do after that?

How do I get this update in my Nuvi? Can you tell me step by step? Thanks

The Send To function of Google, MapQuest and others is pretty cool, but it results in some annoying side effects sometimes.

I sometimes find that a Favorite that I had "sent to" from a web site suddenly reappears in my Favorites days after I had used it and later deleted it.

Anybody going into Philadelphia Pa on I95 the 2009 map is WRONG. If you get off 95 to go on 291 you will see part of route 291 is now a parking lot next to the Airport. I think garmin better get the stuff together, they have been working on that road for over a year now and its still not done..

I have a Garmin Nuvi 200 is there any way I get set it up to avoid streets that have load limits or say no trucks?

I have been working in getting pois on the sd card and have succeeded, however, I have another question. It appears that any poi's that I have on the nuvi are deleted when I put in my sd card. In other words you cannot have different poi's on the nuvi and the sd card because the sd card overides what is on the nuvi.

Before I splurge of the 2009 Map Update, is there a way to check and see if the areas I frequent the most are even updated?

When updating my POI files this afternoon, I ran POI Loader, as usual. After about 2 minutes, it simply crashed. No error code generated..just crashed. I tried again. Same thing. I rebooted my computer and ran it again..same thing. I decided to start eliminating POI files one at a time to see if that would make a difference. The first one I eliminated was the Zipcode file.

I have had the Garmin 330 for about a year and have enjoyed it very much... Has helped several times. It is now discontinued and the 2009 map update is USD 70 as was last year's update. Have found a Magellen 4000 refurbished for USD 90. Anybody have any thoughts? Just stick to what I have and be happy or spend a few for a newer, maybe more modern and better device...

Is there a way to set an alert distance in a CSV file instead of having to do each file when using the POI Loader?

Is it posible to temporarily disable custom POI's without removing them? For example, if I have a POI file of hotels, but during this trip I don't need to be alerted to them, can I turn off the alert but be able to turn them back on for a trip maybe later in the day?

How likely is your phone to work with Bluetooth on a Garmin unit if it's not on the compatibility list at their site?

I didn't get a Bluetooth Garmin because my phone wasn't on the list. I'm in a rural area and we don't have a major cell provider here.

I recently installed the Offbeat Tourist Attractions database in my Garmin. I put the database file, .mp3 file, and icon in a folder and loaded it via the POI Loader.

The database seems to be in there in my Custom POI folder, but there is no option in settings for proximity alerts.

Am I doing something wrong?

I have a nuvi 200w.

I recently went on a rather long road trip. I have seen online where you can export your trip information and view it with programs like Google Earth or Garmin Road Trip.

I can figure out how to export my 'favorites' within Garmin's Road Trip, but can figure out the 'tracks?'

For some reason my volume on SOME of my poi are not loud anymore. I did use the program Audacity to get the volume up before but now it's not working. any advice?
