Yes I've got the 265wt and love it. I use the free lifetime traffic that comes with the unit, and find it to be very useful. No experience with the MSN service.

Look online

I'd suggest looking at some REPUTABLE online stores. As with any online shopping, always do your homework on the store before placing your order. I got mine through ABT Electronics around the release date. They were running a 12% off sale at the time and I think I paid ~$300 shipped. You should be able to easily find it for around that price now.

.

Amazon has it for $301, Crutchfield $349. I've had good luck with those two places. Crutchfield has a 30-day return policy if you decide not to keep it.

I've bought quite a lot from JR.com in NYC, including my 260w. They're fast and reliable. The current price for the 265wt is $319.99 with free shipping.

Nuvi 265WT Price

Beach Audio has given me excellent service with my GPS and they ship from multiple locations.

Right now their price on the Nuvi 265WT is $291.99 + $5 shipping.

Nuvi 265WT Price

The best price I've seen right now (and I've done alot of research because I just purchased one) was at Peak Electronics Online for $239 (free shipping and no tax) I've never personally purchased from Peak before, but they've received good ratings on BizRate and the price was definitely right. I'll provide an update next week with my purchase experience for anyone interested. The site says pricing is valid thru 12-18-08

TigerDirect and CompUSA have the nuvi 265wt for $228.99 with $1.99 shipping

Nuvi 265wt

So far I have been happy with the 265wt.Read the manual several times and have reviewed all the settings.Got a good feel for what it can do now.I have only tested on the road a couple of times.Right away I noticed how fast it go a signal.Driving down the road the screen even in bright sun is easy to see.The screen shows the speed limit for the road.Actual speed you are going, arrival time,Fm traffic icon and across the top of the screen it shows the street you are heading for and arrow pointing the way you will be turning. So far plenty of notice on the turns. The Fm traffic seems to work good in this area of Florida. The ads only appear when you stop and if you don't look close you would not even see them. They are not popping up all the time.I only seen one on the first test I took .You do have the option to touch the add for closest location to the store plus you can click on coupon if it comes up.You write the coupon number down per the manual and give that number to the store for discount.Like I said you have to look close for it.If I didn't have my glasses on never would have seen it.Done the wave file conversion and the alerts work great.Like the Where Am I mode for closest hospital, police station and fuel.

What in particular did you want to know? The 265 comes with the NAVTEQ lifetime traffic. The MSN would be an additional option. You would need to purchase the receiver/power cord and you would receive a trial subscription after which you would need to resubscribe. Each provider also has certain cities that they cover. Most are the same but there could be some differences.

I reccomended it for a friend. Great unit. He ended up getting it from crutchfields online store. They had a great price for it

Bought mine on 11/28 from

Bought mine on 11/28 from the GPSStore in NC for $239.95.

Received my 265wt

I received my new Garmin 265wt from Peak Electronic in a very timely manner. I was very happy with my purchase experience. No tax and no shipping and a price of $239.00 couldn't be beat by anyone I could find online and I did quite a bit of research to make sure I was getting the best deal possible. I've only been using it for a couple of days, but so far, so good. It's light weight, sturdy and intuitive. The only negative thing I can say so far, is that I was playing with the traffic function and attempting to avoid some upcoming traffic that it had picked up, but the route it appeared to give me didn't seem right, so I just took a normal short cut. I was late to work, so I didn't have time to experiment with the suggested route and see if it would have worked, though it didn't appear that it would. Other than that, it was easy to pair with my bluetooth phone and add custom points of interest to.

This may be a little bit off topic, but will my custom points of interest appear automatically as I pass them? For instance, I've added some red light camera and speed trap POI's, but I'm curious to know if I'll be alerted to them automatically since I've added them to my device or if I have to do something special to enable that. Sorry, I'm a bit of a GPS newbie....

Custom POI

Your custom POI will appear IF you have loaded the icon for them (a .BMP file) and you are zoomed in close enough to see the factory POI. They will provide an alert if you have also loaded the proper sound file as well and used the POI Loader in manual mode.

I believe the 265 will not play MP3 files, so you will need the proper version of SOX.exe stored on your computer (mine is in the same program files folder as POI Loader) and you have converted the MP3 to a WAV. One of the better programs - and there are a lot of them out there - is Audacity as it will allow you to edit the sound and do other effects suchas increasing the bass response (makes those tiny tinny speakers sound much better) and amplify it so it can be heard under all conditions.

265WT

I got the 265WT from ABT during the online black Friday sale for 229.99 delivered. I've used it a few times so far and I am quite impressed. I'm still waiting to test out the free (ad based) traffic, so far it's just been green.

You can view a list and search for the closest of your custom POIs in the Extras menu.
Where to? > Extras > Custom POIs.

Icons showin up

I have found that when going to your custom poi you will see the custom bmp within appx 1/4 mile of the location the bmp will show without zooming at all.If you have other custom pois in the same area they will also show.I was using the simulation mode when I discovered it.

Custom POI

Ok, so I've been playing around with the POILoader that you can download from the Garmin site and even when I use the manual setting, I don't see anything that allows me to associate a bmp file with the POI's. Also, can you direct me to where I can download SOX.exe? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

You can download the sox.exe

You can download the sox.exe here at http://rapidshare.com:80/files/139638423/sox.zip

Bmp files are on this site for download.See icons at top of page.Bmp files have to be named the same as the csv or gpx file you want to associate it with.
