Ok, Can somebody explain what a Geocoder is and do I need one to create *.csv files to upload into my Garmin

My Nuvi has the 2008 Maps on it, i registred my device with Garmin and there was no update available for my device, so my question is where do i get these new maps, Ebay or ??

Today my street pilot c330 occasionally makes a short beep which appears not to be affected by the volume level, nor has any pattern that I can make out. This beep is different from any I've heard before. No change on the screen or in operation is detected. The sky is very overcast ???

Updated Bluetooth 3.40 available on Garmin WebUpdater for Garmin 7XX series. Everything seems to work fine but remember you have to pair the phone and the Nuvi again after doing the update. Mine was working fine but thought maybe I would see something added but nothing I have noted yet.

I am a new gps user, trying to understand POI's. Are these added to the map as map points (part of the map, like cities, etc) or as waypoints?
I use Mapsource version 6.11 and Garmin POI Loader.
I load the csv file in POI Loader to the MapSource option. The software shows a successful operation, but I do not see anything on the map in MapSource??
What am I missing?

I just purchased a nuvi 255W and am very excited as this technology is very new to me. I'm traveling to the Orlando/Kissimmee area from St. Louis in a month and would like suggestions from anyone on what additional POIs would be most helpful for my trip. Thanks.

Just a quick question on Speed Camera POI....

I have the the speed camera POI file downloaded into my 780... the files are named

Spd-Cameras_Redlight.csv
Spd-Cameras_Redlight.mp3
Spd-Cameras_Redlight.bmp

Should the files be named something else to provide the approprite notice. Not sure if I should have the word Speed in the name or not...

I tried three of them but didn't find the display speed difference among them.

Would you tell me how much battery life you can get out of a 200W?

My wife uses it as a calculator when shopping and is complaining that it shuts down before she finishes. I told her that she can shut down the GPS when inside, but even so, it should last a few hours. My 350 can get a few hours in the car, so I'm a bit confused.

the suction mount of my c330 melted/welded itseld onto my windshield. I called up Garmin and asked them if they heard of this before and the C.R. said no. the C.R. wound up sending me an entire new mount even though I have had my unit for almost 3 years now.

Currently I am not able to see any of the POIs with proximity alerst loaded on my GPS. The first few times I edited the .gpx file they showed and worked fine. Now they do not show at all. Other POI files are showing fine. Any suggestions?

Is it possible to create a POI file and have images within that file?

For example, if I create a "Family Member's" POI and click on my "dad", his address and phone number come up. To the right of my information is the big GREEN "Go!" button. Directly above the button is empty space.

Is it possible to put a picture of my location in this empty space?

Can I enter a waypoint on my Garmin C330? I need to enter the entrance gate to my deer lease. I almost didn't find it at 4:00 a.m. last Saturday!

I am thinking of buying Nuvi 765T in the near future. It comes with free Realtime Traffic alerts and optional MSN Direct. Which I think is that I have to buy subscription from MSN Direct.

Do I really need both or Traffic alerts are good enough. Though MSN has extra bells and whistles.
I will appreciate your advice.

PS: I live in Greater Toronto area in Canada.

poi's in nuvi 760 are at least 4 years old with 2009 map update installed..

I have tried installing POI and bitmap files to my Nuvi 265t following the instructions found at http://www.poi-factory.com/node/4359 as well as other directions. I'm still not able to see the POIs on my unit. I've tried using the POI Loader to completely remove the files and reloading several times with no success. Any suggestions?

I went away last week and used my 660, it gave me directions with know problem, I then went today to the same place and i got different directions. Both times I started the 660 from the same place. Is this normal ?
