MP3 Attachment

With Forum assistance I managed to attach an mp3 to a .csv & .bmp setup for a speed POI. Works very well indeed.

Question: Can one attach an mp3 to a place POI i.e. say Church.csv, Church.bmp & Church.mp3??

I do not seem to be able to get this type to work as I approach the relevant Church.

Thanks

Yes

You need to load the file with POI LOADER in Manual, not express mode. You will be able to set a distance for the alert in feet. If the gps coordinates are not close to your route/roadway you will not get an alert. That is one reason why many here at the factory mark road entrances, not front door locations.

Oddly, POILoader doesn't automatically enable the alert in this case. If you include the phrase "TourGuide" in the filename, it does. However, in this case, you'll get a radial TourGuide alert - rather than the "Along-road" type you would normally get.

While you can use manual mode, this becomes a little tedious - having to be repeated after any file update. A more flexible solution is to use a gpx file, rather than a csv file. Not only can you still use Automatic mode, it has some other advantages too. You can now set all the parameters on a per-poi basis. (The alerts, associated audio, proximity distance and bitmap can all be set separately.)
