Nuvi 265WT VS Nuvi 760

I am debating which one to buy, Nuvi 265WT or Nuvi 760.
I will appreciate your feedback.

Comparison

Have you checked out Garmin's product comparison tool?

Yes, I did. I am just asking from everyone's personal experiences.
Nuvi 760 has FM wireless but how useful is FM wireless?

Nuvi 265Wt comes with free traffic alerts but 760 you have purchase. But I heard 265Wt alerts come with advertisements.

Nuvi 760 comes with Garmin Locate feature. Is it really a useful feature?
Price wise they are almost same at the moment.
While compairing these features with you guys' personal experiences, which product will be a better buy?

I have a 750, so can respond fairly well to the features of the 760. I have no experience with the 265. With these preliminaries, I will say:

-most reviews that I've read of the FM wireless feature of nuvis give them bad marks. If you use the FM feature of the nuvi, then you can't listen to your regular radio stations (or CDs, etc.) either.
-The "Traffic alerts" feature of the 760 has recently changed. Once the original subscription ends, you can buy a lifetime (life of the traffic receiver) traffic subscription for $60 and it'll have no ads. On the other hand, I have read recent remarks from owners of the Garmins that have ad-based "traffic" and they report that the ads aren't a problem and are much less conspicuous and less annoying than they had expected.
-Is Garmin Locate the feature that remembers its current location when it's removed from the cradle?...the "find your car in a parking lot" feature? I've never used it which may tell you of my thoughts on the feature's usefulness.
-I'm too lazy to look up the 265's features so don't know if it's offered, but the 760 will do multi-point routing, which I find handy at times.

I hope this helps.

Depends on what you want

The biggest differences I see are that the 265WT does not support routes or have MP3 capability. If either of these are important features to you, I would choose the 760. If not, I would go with the 265WT.

I have heard that the newer models have faster processors and have MUCH faster screen updates. This is a big deal. My 760 is considerably slower than my 350 with recalculating and updating the screen afterwards. It can be quite painful and frustrating at times when driving in dense urban traffic.

265WT

I used my works gps yesterday (Garmin nuvi 255, which is comparable to the 265wt) and it impressed me so much that I did a little research on Garmin gps since I might buy one myself. I was also deciding between the 760 & 265wt, but based on johnc's comments I would go with the 265wt. My girlfriend has a nuvi 350, and the nuvi 255 I used yesterday blew it away in speed. It was so fast it never even said "recalculating", it just showed the new route. It also acquired satellites much faster. And since johnc says the 760 is even slower than the 350, I think it is no contest. I buy all my tech stuff on Newegg.com, and they are priced similarly on there. Go with the 265wt. I know I will.

I had the same quandry and decided on the 265WT. My main reasons were for the free traffic, and my excellent experience with my wife's Nuvi 260.

The routing feature would have been nice to have, but since I work off customer appointments it's very difficult to get meetings scheduled with them on a "shortest itinerary" basis.

MP3 was no issue for me, as I have a player and my car radio handles MP3 and satellite radio - with better sounding speakers. I was told the 200 series will play WAV files, which can be easily converted from MP3s.

The HotFix along would make

The HotFix alone would make me go for the 265. Much faster satellite fix in the 2x5 versus 2x0 series. The 2x0 was sometimes useless to me because by the time I got satellite fix, I was already driving on a route I chose because I was tired of waiting before driving.
