It's not clear what you want to do. I don't have an mp3 capable gps myself, but I think there may be two very different things that you could be trying to do.

If you just want to play mp3 files, such as music or audio books, don't put them in the POI folder. There are likely better places to put them, the best being an add-in SD card. If you just have a few songs you can likely store them in a mp3 folder in the gps.

If you want to use custom mp3 files to announce proximity to a POI, you don't "put" it in the POI folder in the gps. You put it in the same folder as the poi file (and perhaps the bitmap icon file) and you make sure that the name EXACTLY matches the name of the POI file, including upper and lower case, except that it ends with the .mp3 file extension (you have fixed Windows so you can see file extensions, have you not?). Then you use POI loader to transfer all of the POIs to the gps, it will make one poi.gpi file with everything you want contained in it in Garmin's special format.

mp3 into your Nuvi 760

I am assuming that your question refers to playing mp3 music files, so

Just connect your nuvi to the computer and create a folder in the nuvi to contain your mp3 files, any folder(s) will do, or put them on a memory card.

When the nuvi starts, it will search for all the mp3 type files and allow you to play them. That simple!

mp3 songs is different to the mp3 files used for POI alerts or TourGuide functionality, which is a different story and need to be loaded with POI Loader.

If you are wanting to add mp3 files to POI files so that you get some type of sound effect when you encounter a Point of Interest then do the following:

1. Put the mp3 file in the same directory as the POI file on your computer.

2. Name the mp3 file the same as your POI file.

RedlightCameria.csv = POI file
RedlightCameria.mp3 = sound file

3. Use POI Loader to install the files on your Nuvi.

That's it, every time you drive by a POI you will get the sound file played on your GPS.
