Hi. I just bought my first GPS (nuvi 265wt), and this is my first time posting. Thanks everyone for your POI databases - you've obviously invested a lot of time and energy, and I appreciate it.

i was editing a school zone poi and was adding some schools in my town and found a school that has been there for all most 10 years and it is not on the map the school is topaz Elementary school N34 25.981 W117 21.299 Is there a way to call garmin to add the school

Why Garmin do not have feature like TomTom's Map share.

Does that feature cause more problems for TomTom users???

I'm fairly new to GPS, and very new to this board, but I've found something interesting with my Nuvi 760, and see no mention of it on the forums (however, it probably is and I just couldn't find it. If so, sorry.).

Long story short, I had a Nuvi 680 and got a 760. What I missed was the satalite acquisition screen. It wasn't in the manual.

I have a certain route I like from home to Phoenix. My 660 doesn't like some of the way I go. Last year when it was new and so was I, it took all the way from Wichita to the OK border before it believed I wasn't going to do a U turn and take KS -54 going to Tucumcari. Now I know how to set the mid points to prevent that problem.

i am a new user. i have a garman 205w. i am a trucker and have dozens of places in my favorites. i bought a 2gb sd card. how do i save these favorites to my sd card in case of power failure on my garman. if i have a loss of battery will i lose my favorites. also how many favorites can i put into my garman. thank you, chuck96

I have a new-this-week nuvi 250. Still learning a lot about it. I went to the Garmin site, created an account, and clicked on the option to register it. after giving my SR# they had me connect the device (interesting in itself since they don't supply a usb cable, but I had one) and then informed me that to register the device I had to accept a firmware update.

Has anyone purchased the regional Mad Maps from Garmin?

Are they worth it?

I have tried to use the POI loader to upload .csv files to Mapsource but I don't get too far. I use the POI "Mapsource (Advanced) choice, go through the whole proceedure and get a "Congratulations" and "Finish".

It seems that the POI loader converts the .csv file to a .gpi file and files it on my hard drive.

How do I back up and restore the Favorites I have entered by hand on my Garmin nuvi 350. I would like to copy my Favorites into several Garmin units.

Is it possible to create a Favorites file externaly and load it into the Garmin?

When you search POI's on your nuvi garmin unit-- does it automatically search the custom POI folder or do you have to search custom POI manually? By opening that folder...

If I were to upgrade my Garmin for Christmas and give my son my old Nuvi 350, what should I upgrade too, and why? I am sure I am not the only one thinking of doing something like this, so I leave my information needed vague so all will benefit from this discussion.

on the mp3 player folder can you have sub folders to orginize the tunes, or does it have to be one main folder??!!

Saved the gpx file from the old 680.
Trying to copy and paste it into the 760 garmin/gpx folder, but it will not show the favorites.
Is there a trick to it?

I have this Nuvi 770 that all of a sudden will hang when trying to enable the Bluetooth. It will stay for ever on that "Enabling Bluetooth" Screen. The only way out is to power off the unit.

Tried many suggestions from different forums but nothing good. Also it seems that many people are having this problem.

Present software version is...
V4.20 for the Nuvi 770.

I'm very new at this and have a couple of questions. First, I saw a topic on another forum stating that you have to add all the POI's at once because it deletes the database and just installs what you are installing at that time. Is this correct? Did my database that Garmin pre-installed on my gps was overwritten?

I just got a Garmin Nuvi 265WT. This is my fisrt GPS and I'm still learing. What I would like to know is if there is a way to load a BMP Icon file without having to have a matching POI file? Any insight would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks!!!!
