Deleting info off of my Garmin

Garnin 255w Have POI red light & speed cameras downloaded

Just recently downloaded the latest version, but now I have 2 sets of red cameras and speed on my garmin under my Extras icon>Custom POI's headings How can I delete what I don't need off my Garmin.

The easiest

The easiest way if all you have are the red light and speed camera POIs would be to delete the POI.GPI file from the POI folder on the GPS.

Doing that will delete all your POIs so you would need to run POIloader again to reinstall the newest speed and red light files.

How did it happen?

Have you renamed poi.gpi inside the nuvi to create multiple .gpi files? Then it was intentional.

If you haven't renamed poi.gpi, then you must have both the old and new redlight and speed files on your PC in different folders. Delete the folder on your PC containing the older files and run POI Loader again. It will delete all POI files in the nuvi and load only what you have on the PC now, the newer files.

Every time you download new redlight and speed files from POI Factory, always put them in the same redlight and speed folders on your PC where last week's files are located. When you click "save" you get a warning that the new file will overwrite the old file. Click "yes" because that is exactly what you want. Then only one redlight and one speed file will exist on your PC at one time.

The simplest way to use POI Loader to load redlight and speed files into the nuvi is in this FAQ. It also describes how to keep the files organized on the PC -

Two Files

When re-loading your POI files make sure you don't have red light cameras saved under two different names. I.E. Red-Light Cameras or Red_Light Cameras. Labeled differently you'd send two red light POIs to the GPS unless you used Manual send and caught the bogus file.

Cheers

Have you changed POI Loaders lately from 2.5.4 to 2.6.1 and changed the name of the POI file?
