I'm not sure if this has been discussed before but a quick forum search didn't turn it up.

Apparently, Garmin tracks exactly where you go and what you do with your GPS....

I have a Nuvi 750 and while in Northern Michigan I hit detour because US131 was out. When I did that I ended up on a 2 track, ORV trail. Anyone else had that happen? Is there a way to say, Dirt roads are ok, but 2 track trails are not?

I have a Garmin 855 gps. My question, If I am following a route and I want to go to the poi and look at fast food. After all is done, how do I get back to my route with out going to "Where To" again.

The Garmin-Asus Nuvifone is vaporware no more! Boy Genius has unveiled some information about several upcoming AT&T smartphones, the G60 among them. The nuvifone G60 is a collaboration between the famed GPS manufacturer Garmin and PC-manufacturer Asus. It will cost $299 with a 2-year contract after a $100 mail-in rebate.

Does speech recogniton add to the GPS experience? I understand that the Garmin 850 and 880 use SR and both have subsequently been discontinued. Are there newer models coming out with SR? Was it just a temporary fling?

My poi alerts worked fine. I then created master folders and mixed poi's of the same type in one folder. In that folder I placed each poi file, the icon, and the alert file. Now none of the alerts work. Do I have to segregate them into their own folders again?

It appears that I cannot get my external memory to work with large files. To prove this I tried to load a 2.63MB file to the internal memory and it took. I then loaded the same file to the external memory and it took. I increased the file size to 11.9MB and it would hang up on the internal memory with the external memory out.

I tried to pair iphone 3.1 with Nuvi 765. It pairs without much problem. It transferes phone book etc. but when you make a phone call from Nuvi or receive a phone call while paired with nuvi you get audio on iphone and not on Nuvi speakers.

Is anyone interested in creating a POI file that has restaurants with salad bars? I know that Ruby Tuesday and Charlie Browns have them but what about non chain restaurants or chains that I have never heard of when I travel to different locations.

Hey all,
I've found a little glitch or something in my Garmin C330. It seems to be off by at least a few hundred yards on certain locations, like my house for one. In that case it's about 4 houses off and directs me to the neighborhood common area instead. Is there any way to correct these variances?

how can I move favorites custom pois and/or sd card?

I have 200w want to upgrade to one with street names.

I noticed it's $199, and 8 > 6 (as in 660). It seems as if it would be a good deal. I know with the 660, I have NEVER used the bluetooth function, it's not very good, at least not as good as a $35 Plantronics headset.

Next stop or price point, $99, maybe in a year, right?!

I love your site and the service that you provide; needless to say that in the past 2 days I've downloaded more than a few of your POI's on my brand spankin' new Garmin nuvi 265WT. And boy, o-boy...do I have a lot to learn!

I am trying to find out what POI's if any have been loaded onto my Garmin 265wt.
Everytime I go into the dashboard to read my GPS it tell me "Internet Explorer has closed this webpage to help protect your computer

A malfunctioning or malicious add-on has caused Internet Explorer to close this webpage."

Does anyone has any success of getting Garmin or Navteq to correct map error after you submitted it using the online form ?

I just submit a map error using the online form at the Garmin website and wondering how are their responsiveness to it.

Within mapsource, for each waypoint, you can put in some comments. After loading these waypoints into the Nuvi, Is there anyway to display these comments on the Nuvis ?

We just did a trip from NC to MN. While still in NC, I used Mapsource to input into my Garmin 765t, the route I wanted to take. The Garmin came up with 1201 miles in 17hrs 42 minutes. Using 14 waypoints to peg the route so it isnt recalculated when sent to the unit. While here in Cottage Grove, MN, I used Mapsource to config the same route back to NC.

Has anyone noted charging problems with the MSN Direct Receiver GDB 55 battery? After about 6 hours on DC power the battery on my cable only charged to half scale. Then intermittantly it indicates 1/4 charge or no charge. This may have started after the software update that was to provide faster acquisition of traffic information. I am not sure.

I am very disappointed in the low volume level from the on board speaker of the Nuvi 780.

I tried TTS Voice Editor and the volume is still not at the level of my N200. The navigation voice is louder but all the other sounds are still too low.
