custom POI's on the SD card of my 1490
Hello all, Tried to load custom POI's to my SD on my 1490lmt using the POI Loader and it does not work. However, when I direct to the internal memory it works. Does that mean I can't download custom POI's to the SD?

GTM-20
Latelty I notice that when I plug in the GTM-20 cable sometimes I get the following message on the screen "This device is not supported " My Gps is updated and why I still get this messages from time to time.Also year ago garmin was telling me what update where avaiable before I download them now does not show me what does install on my gps.You know it really make me wonder all the money garmin u

nuvi 2460 default power-on screen
No real big deal but 95% of the time I simply want my GPS to go the map screen when it powers up instead of the main menu. It's only one touch to get there but annoying just the same.
Has anyone discovered a way to go directly to the map screen when the unit powers up?

Calculated Distance
Hopefully this is not a repeat.
When I select points of interest and the list is displayed it lists the distance and general compass heading.

Amazon offering under $50 lifetime map updates (again)
I got an email this morning from Amazon announcing their card based lifetime map updates for under $50 (again). I just bought one for my son which shipped yesterday for over $70. Last time they did this, it was only offered for 2-3 days. I hope some of you get in on this.

Opening a .csv file in Mapsource
Just dowloaded the Michigan Cider MIlls from POI-Factory. I tried to save as a .gdb file and as a .gpx file but both say it is an invalid file and Mapsource will not open it. I KNOW I have done this before (I think) but sure cant make it work this time. I am trying to plan a fall color ride and this would be a great source of ideas. Appreciate any help that can be provided.

Loading Custom POI;\'s into in-dash nav system
We've got a new Jeep with what appears to be a Garmin in-dash nav as part of the electronics.
The owners documentation states that custom POI's can be loaded. Here's the text from the manual:

Amazon does not say they are out of stock, instead it reads "this item has not yet been released".

Transfer Waypoint without Computer
On a recent 4WD deep in Forest Service roads I wanted to transfer a waypoint (POI) of a road intersection to a friend with another Garmin. He wanted a shorter way out.
I could not find the coordinates for the waypoint on my GPS.
Is there a way to transfer coordinates without a computer? I was so sure I could........

Accuracy of POI Locations
In an effort to get more familiar with my Garmin gps and practice some tips learned on this forum, I created a short 20 mile route and proceeded to see what campground POI's showed up along my route. What I discovered is that looking for POIs ALONG A ROUTE My Garmin 750 only shows those within 1 mile of the road.

Basecamp Confusing
I recently purchased the nuvi 3790LMT unit and loving it but trying to use Basecamp is very frustrating.
I want to be able to create my own route and exporting it to my garmin but when I select the waypoints and select create route,all I get is the individual waypoints saved under my favorites in my garmin. I thought I can just combine all the waypoints into one single route.

Nuvi 855T factory files
Does anyone know how to reload original files on a nuvi 855T ? I wanted to free up some space on this unit and deleted some needed files. I lost Speech Recognition. I'm up to date on the software (v4.70)
Any thoughts? Thanks

2350lmt (questions about the 2xxx series)
Have recently purchased my first gps a nuvi 1350lmt. Well... soon after that, I realized how many different models & features there are out there and much fun gps'ing is! I have been doing a lot of reading on this site. ( and have much appreciated the insight & experience of the contributions here! )

POI's Along a Route
New guy here. I suppose this is like asking for the moon, but do ANY Garmin (or other brand) gps's allow you to search for POI's within xx miles of the road along an entire route?
Searching for campgrounds within 5 miles of the road along an entire route comes to mind. Streets and Trips has a similar function.
How do downloaded POI files work
I added a few to my Nuvi 855 (Starbucks locations, etc.) that siad they had the verbal components (I assumed warning you when you were within X distance) but did not get any audio, just icons on the screen. Do I need to configure something else?
New to adding POI files so thanks.
