Garmin talk

Sometime today, my month-old 855 stopped responding to screen touch. I've looked around (with voice commands) but been unable to find a setting to undo this. I've tried turning it off for several minutes.

Can anyone advise

1. What I might have done to cause this? (so I can avoid in future)

2. How to get it back?

I was trying out the cantonese (chinese) language on the Garmin Nuvi 265WT and was very disappointed. No street names, exit numbers, etc. was spoken. Is there any way to correct this or is this the best it can do? It would be great to have the foreign language work the same as english.

I was reading that in California you are not allowed to adhere a GPS device to your windshield or anywhere that it obstructs the drivers vision. So where am I allowed to place it??

Does anyone know if there is a certain class level needed for SDHC cards in a 765T? I had an unrated SDHC card that went bad. Should it have been a class 2, class 4 or class 6 or does it not matter as long as it is SDHC? I need to get another one and there is a price between the different classes.

I've owned a 200W as well as my current 855 and I've noticed that they both seem to save a lot of searches into the Favorites section. I work as a hotshot courier so I search for around 40 plus locations a day and I very rarely save any of them as favorites but I notice at the end of each day that there are at least 10 new favorites in my file.

I recently purchased a Nuvi 255W and my daily travel time to work is usually 1 hr-1.5 hrs. around 40 miles each way. Would it be wise to purchase either FM Traffic or MSN Direct? if so, which one would be better suited for me?

Howdy from snowy Nebraska!

I like to hike and I am interested in getting Garmin's TOPO Maps for either the Northern Plains or the North Central part of the nation and wonder if anyone has some experience using these with a Nuvi 255W. I'm am wondering if they are worth the price.

My big questions are:

Have a 255wt and old sp 2610. The 2610 will show rest areas as I travel whether I request it to or not, as long as I am under (or is it over) the 8-mile zoom level. I would like the 255 to do this as well. I have downloaded the rest area POI database and installed it, but I still do not see a constant display of rest areas. Is there a way to customize the display to acccomplish this?

I recently purchased a Garmin 255W. Are there any maps that I should upload other than what it came with?

Well I did it. I was heading to the car the other morning and in doing so I was juggling the items I needed for the day and wouldn't you know it, I had my C330 on the top of the pile and missed it. It hit the ground hard, never to recover )-; Good news is I was able to find a C340 on CL for cheap and purchased it.
