Hi everybody, I'm new to custom POI and would like to know if they can be installed on the SD card. If so would I put the POI.gpx file in the root of the SD card or mimic the Garmin folder structures on the SD card as in "Garmin\POI\...", etc.

Yesterday I tried to see if the Custom Waypoint symbols worked with a Nuvi. I set a favorite in Mapsource and made the symbol one of the custom symbols. I sent the favorites to the 765T. When I turned on the Nuvi it went into a boot loop. I had to do a master reset to get it to boot.

Does anyone know if there is any difference in the POI proximity alerts capabilities between the 260w and the 260wt?

I would like for the GPS to alert me with mp3 audio and visual alerts when i get a few miles from one my client's houses so i remember to visit them.

The Pilot and TA travel centers are not functioning properly. All of my other POI's that I set alerts for pop up, but not these 2 truck stops. I am sure i didn't do anything wrong. So what is the problem with these two POIs?

I have read the posts and it seems like (??) the firmware updates have resolved the 885T issues. Is this indeed correct? I hate to blow $400 if they are still a problem...

Purchased the new Nuvi 1350 through Stop & Shop Digital, good price $230.....bad news. They e-Mailed me back, 12 week wait....So buyers beware.

I just updated my C340 to the new 2010 Maps a few days ago, and I'm a little concerned. I've been playing around with it in my local travels (within about a 100 mile radius) over the last few days, and I'm getting errors that I never had with my 07,08, or 09 maps......such as it telling me that the approaching turn will be a Right turn, when it will actually be a Left!

I have a StreetPilot C330 and I've been away for a long time. I'm about to buy a 265wt Nuvi for my wife's b-day...got me back interested in the custom POI's. When I save the file, sometimes they're in a zipped folder...should I unzip the files before I run the POI loader? At one point, I had subfolders to choose from under "Custom POI's", but now they are all just mixed together.

I cant find a zoom scale on my Nuvi 885T? I have no idea how many feet I'm zoomed in or out!

What am I missing here?

hi there i bought my 1350 garmin gps cool stuff but got a problem about my speed limit indicator doesnt show and change lane indicator doesnt show too, im here in toronto,canada really appreciate your help thanks!

I would like to update my "rest area" file,and add a new mp3 sound. I downloaded the combined rest area and mp3 sound file.
When I go to install it in my Garmin do I have to delete the old file first? Should I give the new file the same name so that it will overwright the old one?

On a Nuvi 760. Any good way of doing this without hitting "stop" (which cancels the entire route) or going deep into the routes menu and deleting it there?

If I simply go past a turn will it just assume I want to keep going on my route or will it try to give me new directions until I get to the via point?

Could some one advise the proper procedure for making corrections or additions to an exsisting POI file. I justed loaded the KwikTrip File and have an additon.

I am perplexed as my map source wont load as it says i need a map source product ,I had map source working a month ago now it doesn't work ,any ideas.

I am using the nuvi lifetime maps on my c530. With the 2009 maps, I was able to load most states on the c530, and the few remaining states + Alaska and Canada on a memory card. With the new version 2010.10, the options for loading from the .exe are East, or West, or Upper, etc. I can choose to load remaining states onto the external memory card through mapinstall.
