Do you think the release of the iPhone SE will get other manufacturers to make more small form factor smartphones without major compromises to specifications?
I would like more diversity in flagship phone sizes.

Apple's refusal to allow backdoor access to its iPhones
What do you guys think of this?
I think some non-techies have not really paid much attention to electronic privacy rights in the past. But now Apple's recent stance has increased awareness.
No matter the outcome, I'm glad to see more discussion around this topic, especially in the larger population.

Garmin Vívofit 2
Just purchased the Vívofit 2 as a gift. After downloading the manual all looks pretty straight forward. Want to set it up before giving it to my wife. Anyone have any tips that may not be covered in the manual? I talked to some guys and gals before buying this and they say they really like these fitness activity reporters.

My Verizon Galaxy Note 4 received the Android Lolipop 5.1.1 update today OTA
I received the Android 5.1.1 update from 5.0.1 today on my Verizon Note 4 and all went very smooth OTA. Took about 15-20 minutes to download and complete the install.

Theodolite Replaced GPSmap 60CS
I think I finally have to admit that my trusty GPSmap 60CS is retired. I haven't used it for my field work in over two years.
In its place, I have been using a wonderful app called Theodolite by Hunter Research and Technology, LLC.

iPhones & Airplane Mode
I just learned this today: If you have a device with iOS 8.2 or earlier, Airplane Mode will also turn off GPS...
So - on iPhones running any iOS after 8.3 - Airplane Mode will leave the GPS receiver working on the device, and you can use it with an app that stores full maps on the device without a need for a cellular or wifi data connection.

Any Problems With iOS 9?
I was forced to update my company iPhone last weekend and since it didn't explode, 
I decided to update my 6+ and my wife's 4S. The only problem I had was the"link" (my term) to our carrier on my wife's iPhone didn't reset. I didn't realize it at first because the Wi-Fi worked. However, when my wife went to the store, she couldn't send or receive calls.

Import POI into Google Maps
Have I missed this on here?
I just downloaded my POIs into Google Maps.
I also downloaded my Routes into Google Maps but have not found how to route them.
*Go to your PC. Open Google Maps and be sure to sign in so it will link to your phone and tablet.
*In the upper left click on the three bars
*Click on My Maps
*In the right corner click on Create
*Click on Import

Smartlink app and Garmin 2997
Does anybody know how to fix this?....
From Google Maps (v9.9.0) on my Galaxy S4,
I search for an address and Google Maps finds it.
Using SHARE I select Garminn Smartlink (v1.8.2)
Smartlink opens up and the SEND button is available.

Factory gps
They have come a long way, prolly better than a phone no doubt. Had a Caddy rental and had to say the nav was decent (can't understand for the life of me why a 72k American car has no locking fuel door, while a 16k import does.). And at nearly 3/4 of 100k how the quality is not there. But the gps was decent.

Android Smartphone as GPS without cellular or wi-fi??
Can you use an android smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One M7, or similar) as a stand alone gps just as you would a Garmin, Tom Tom, etc WITHOUT cellular service and without wi-fi.
I've googled a bit on this subject but haven't really gotten any definitive answers.
I don't mind purchasing an app for a one time fee if necessary.
