POI projects

I've been enjoying pretzels at this chain on the East Coast and will begin creating a POI. Stay tuned.

Is it possible to have an alert display only during a particular time frame? For instance, 'school zones' in Australia and probably everywhere else are active for a certain period in the morning and in the afternoon. Is it possible to have those alerts active only at those times?

Has anyone seen a poi for the Big O tire stores? It looks like according to their site there are a little over 500 stores.

This latest file still has numerous locations, in which only the phone number is listed in column D. Due to the size of this file,I am looking for volunteers to add addresses to these locations. In addition, I would like for these volunteers to compare the listing on the file to the McDonalds listing on its website. I completed Florida and it is a time consuming task.

How about a Church of Sciencetolgy POI?

There is a large number of poi files in this data base but I know for a fact some of the poi in some of the files either no longer exist or are wrong/moved. Is there any procedure for updating these files to keep them current?

I downloaded the gpx labeled "Complete list of 8436 National Park Service POIs" (created by dave817, but I am unable to contact him directly). The gpx only has 516 locations, so I think the file is incomplete and just wanted to report that issue.

I'm going to Mauii and Oahu, and would like to know if anyone has any POIs attractions, scenery, kids stuff, volcanos, resturants...for my Garmin?

Well I found a spreadsheet of the US Mazda Dealers and have started to create the POI files for them. Over the weekend I uploaded a few states and a begining to the entire US listing.

I will be adding more states as I get time, I work out of state so most of this will happen on the weekends.

Any corrections you can give me would be a great help!

While browsing through the POI files I found HUNDREDS that have not been updated in the last 2 to 3 years. With the economy in rough shape and places closing each day, I wonder if those of you that have files posted here wouldn't want to have a look at those files and update them to something a bit more recent?

I have started and submitted a POI for CB Repair Shops.

I would really appreciate any help you can give in expanding the listings in this file.

I would like the Name, Address, Phone Number for the shop and if you can also include the hours of opperation and if they sell used/new equipment that would be much appreciated.

The current file has a few shops in South Eastern MI.

I would like to know the locations of all the greens on a golf course, so I could use my GPS unit to estimate distances to the hole. Has anyone done this for any golf courses?

I created the CSV file at http://www.poi-factory.com/node/2062 from a list on the website http://www.autodealerdirectory.us/volvo_m47m_madd.html.
I eliminated some duplicates and spot-checked a number of the addresses on the web (they seemed pretty accurate in general). Please do post errors or omissions, or, probably better, email me directly.

I have been searching to see if this has been discussed before, but could not find anything. I would like to know when we are about to cross a state line. When crossing into a new state I get this kind of satisfaction that feels like we are really making progress!

I uploaded new updated files for the Pilot Travel Centers and the ULSD Pilot Travel Centers.

The files are loaded with all info needed. Once they make it through the clearing house they should be on here - I know it takes time for them to make it available to be downloaded.

I know there are many more than 20 locations of in-n-out burges. Is the poi file posted the complete file? It is listed as new... Or is the gpx file the one with all locations?

Has anyone started a POI group for "RV Parts & Supplies" for either/both USA and Canada??? I found one for "Camping World", but there are many more!! I am new at this, and would be willing to start such a list, if there is a way for others to add to it to make it truely helpful as we travel around...

I created a POI containing all the amusement parks that are no longer open in North America. I got the list off of Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_defunct_amusement_parks). For some of the parks that were listed I either could not find a complete history and/or I could not find a definite location.
