Does anyone know what they really cost? I thought that maybe 9-10 years ago, the number was $1 mil. per camera. With the number of local municipalities putting them up, I would think that today they're in the tens of thousands, if that, but that's a wild guess. Anybody know?
In my area, Orlando, Fl, cameras may only be pointed in 1,2, or three directions. As I am new to POI's, I have a question: 1. Are the POI's direction sensitive? i.e. if you are going west but the camera is catching southbound traffic will the POI alert still go off at the intersection regardless of your direction of travel?

Just back home from a shopping trip to the southwest side of Toledo, Ohio. We passed through 3 intersections that had traffic cameras and noticed an interesting fact. Traffic was backed up at all three intersections. It appeared to me that the city has shortened the green light interval at all three.
I just saw this morning on Bay News 9, the city of St. Petersburg is pushing to have red light cameras installed at 19 intersections around the city. Bay News 9 reported that if the state legislature does indeed repeal the red light cameras, the only cities allowed to keep them will be the ones that already have them installed.
What happens when traffic signals are out/not working due to a power outage? Is it safe to assume the red light cam is also disabled due to the lack of power, or by design?
Tampa, FL, city council has just approved the addition of twenty (20) new red light cameras by the end of the year. This is a city in real financial trouble and is looking for these revenue cameras to boost their budget. It will cost $158 per ticket. I understand that they are also looking at speed cameras to get into the pockets of drivers who accelerate to beat the road sensors.
Need a little help here. I have downloaded both the Red Light and Speed camera file, and they loaded fine in the unit. The issue is when I go to the CUSTOM POI option, I can't turn them all on, I'm only limited to 10 custom POI's. I found the same issue with the US Golf Courses. Are the file numbers referencing an area of the country?

Red Light Violation or Not Red Light Violation
Spent last week in Pompano Beach Florida. Nearly every intersection has cameras similar to the upper half of third picture on this thread.

St. Petersburg City Council votes in favor of red light camera contract
The city of St. Petersburg voted to award a contract to American Traffic Solutions to install red light cameras.
Today, the City Council looked over a fast-track contract. It will add red light cameras at 19 intersections.
However, City Council member Wengay Newton questioned why the cameras are needed.
